Early the next morning, I woke up to say goodbye to my dad. Even though, he hurt my feelings yesterday, his still my dad.

I opened my door to find Lucas, Ezra, lunar, and Enzo standing outside.

"Good morning Makayla." Enzo said in a sweet voice.

"Good morning guys, what are you all doing here in front of my room door?

"Your dad's about to leave, so we wanted to let you know." Lucas said. "If you like, we could take you to him and say your last goodbye to him?

"Yeah let's go." I said.

We met with my dad and Liam. I watched as Liam handed my dad some supplies and food. And not once did he look at me, I could tell he wasn't going to say goodbye to me, so I decided to make the first move.

And walked up to him.

"Dad," I said, my voice trembling slightly. "I just wanted to say goodbye."

He turned to look at me, surprise evident in his eyes. For a moment, there was a flicker of sadness before he composed himself.

"Goodbye, Makayla," he replied, his tone devoid of any warmth or affection.

Tears welled up in my eyes, but I refused to let them fall. I had expected this reaction, but it still hurt nonetheless.

"I hope you have a safe journey," I managed to say, my voice barely above a whisper.

He nodded curtly and turned away, walking towards the portal and without another word. I watched as he walked through the portal, a heavy feeling settling in my chest.

Lucas and Ezra placed a comforting hand on my shoulder, offering me a small smile. "I'm sorry, Makayla. We're here for you." Lucas said.

I nodded, grateful for the support of my friends. "Thank you, guys. It means a lot."

As we turned to walk back inside, I couldn't help but wonder if things would ever be the same between my dad and me. But for now, I had my friends by my side, and that was enough to give me hope.

A few days passed and my training with Asher, Yasmin, and Liam had finally finished. And it was time for me to train with Lucas and Ezra. Lucas will train me to control my dark powers, and Ezra will train me to control my blue nova abilities.

I was both excited and nervous to start training with Lucas and Ezra. They were both incredibly skilled and powerful, and I knew that they would push me to my limits. But I also trusted them to guide me and help me harness my abilities.

We gathered in a secluded area of the forest, away from prying eyes. Lucas stood in front of me, his eyes filled with determination.

"Alright, Makayla," he said, his voice firm. "Controlling your dark powers requires focus and discipline. It's important to remember that these powers can be dangerous if not used responsibly."

I nodded, taking in his words. I knew that my dark powers had the potential to harm others, and I would rather not let them control me.

Lucas began by teaching me various techniques to channel and control my dark energy. He showed me how to create a protective shield, how to manipulate shadows, and how to unleash bursts of dark energy. Each exercise pushed me further and further, testing my control and concentration.

As the training progressed, I could feel myself growing more confident in my abilities. Lucas was an excellent teacher, patient yet demanding. He pushed me to my limits, always encouraging me to go further and reach new heights.

After hours of intense training, I collapsed onto the ground, exhausted but exhilarated. Lucas stood over me, a proud smile on his face.

"You're doing great, Makayla," he said, extending a hand to help me up. "Your control is improving, and I can see the potential within you."

I smiled gratefully, feeling a sense of accomplishment. With Lucas's guidance, I knew that I could master my dark powers and use them for good.

"Remember if you have any questions you could always ask me."

"Yeah, yeah, I know Lucas." I said sarcastically.

Lucas reacted by rolling his eyes, "Okay miss smarty-pants." Lucas said while squeezing his water bottle, causing water to spray onto me.

I squealed and jumped back, trying to dodge the spray of water. "Lucas! That's not fair!" I protested, laughing.

He smirked mischievously. "Oh, come on, Makayla. You can handle a little water, can't you?"

I playfully glared at him, then grabbed my water bottle and retaliated, squirting him back. He let out a surprised yelp as the water hit him, and we both burst into laughter.

Lucas and I continued to splash each other playfully with water, forgetting about the intense training we had just gone through. It was a moment of lightheartedness and camaraderie, a reminder that even in the midst of our responsibilities and powers, we could still have fun and be ourselves.

Eventually, it started to rain, but neither one of us thought of calling truce and giving up on our water fight. We embraced the rain, using it as an opportunity to drench each other even more. We laughed and chased each other through the forest, our powers forgotten for a moment as we reveled in the simple joy of being carefree.

We played like little children running in the rain, but we simply didn't care. As we were running around in the rain, I accidentally fell down, and Lucas rushed over to me. "Makayla you are okay." Lucas said in a worried voice, but then he started to laugh at me. I couldn't help but also laugh. He helped me up and at that moment our faces inches apart, our laughter fading into a shared silence. I looked into Lucas's eyes, seeing a mix of concern and something else I couldn't quite place. I couldn't feel his breath as he exhaled, and hear his heart pounding. I could feel the tension between us, the unspoken connection that had been growing stronger with each passing day. It was as if time had frozen, and at that moment, it was just the two of us.

But before anything more could happen, a voice broke the silence.

"Are you two lovebirds done playing in the rain?"

It was Ezra, standing a few feet away with a smirk on his face. Both Lucas and I quickly stepped back, our faces turning red with embarrassment.

"Shut up, Ezra," Lucas muttered, trying to regain his composure.

Ezra chuckled, clearly enjoying the moment. "Well, if you're done with your little romantic interlude, we should probably head back. We still have a lot of training to do."

Lucas and I exchanged a sheepish glance before nodding in agreement. We gathered our things and made our way back to the training area, the rain still pouring down around us.

As we resumed our training, I couldn't help but feel a newfound closeness to Lucas. There was something about that shared moment in the rain that had brought us together, even if it was just for a brief moment.

I knew that our training would continue to push me to my limits, but I also knew that I had the support and friendship of Lucas and Ezra by my side. And perhaps, just maybe, something more was beginning to blossom between Lucas and me.
