The flames turned blue and took the shape of wings, and suddenly, I was using them to fly. I felt a mixture of fear and happiness. Then, I looked at the little girl who said, "help me" before disappearing. Shortly after, my phone buzzed and I noticed that Lunar was calling.
"Oh no, they must be searching for me," I muttered to myself and quickly ran out as if nothing had happened, catching up with them.
"What the heck, Makayla? We've been searching for you everywhere. Where were you?" Lunar asked with a concerned voice.
"I'm so sorry! I got caught up searching for food nearby and lost track of time. But I'm fine, Lunar, you don't have to worry." Lunar looked at me strangely and looked away.
Afterward, we decided to go on a roller coaster ride. Throughout the ride, I couldn't help but think about the little girl and what she said. But apart from that, we had a lot of fun the whole night.
"Guys, it's getting late. We should probably head home now," Ezra suggested.
"I agree with Ezra. We would rather not worry Makayla's parents," Asher added, looking at me.
"Yeah, we should probably go," I said nervously.
We arrived at our houses and went our separate ways. My mom and dad were already asleep on the couch, so we quietly went up to my room. I cleaned up the guest bedroom for Enzo to use, then decided to take a hot shower and relax.
I wasn't sure if I should tell Enzo and Lunar anything just yet, so I kept quiet. Enzo and Lunar were only staying for one day and flying back on Monday morning.
The next day, my mom, dad, Enzo, Lunar, and I went shopping to spend some time together before Enzo and Lunar left. We had a great time exploring different stores and trying on clothes. Enzo found a cool pair of sneakers, Lunar got a cute dress, and I got a new video game. We laughed, shared snacks, and made unforgettable memories. It was the perfect way to spend time together.
During the night, I helped Enzo and Lunar pack their bags for their morning flight.
"I'm going to miss you both so much," I said, trying not to cry.
"We're going to miss you too, Makayla. We'll make sure to visit you every school holiday, I promise," Lunar said, trying to cheer me up.
We finished packing, had dinner, and went to bed early.
The next morning, around 5 pm, I woke up feeling a mix of emotions. I was excited about the fun we had, but also sad, knowing that Enzo and Lunar would be leaving soon. We had breakfast together, reminiscing about the adventures we had during their visit. As we drove to the airport, there was a bittersweet atmosphere. We arrived, and it was time to say goodbye.
