The following day, our training began after the elders had spread the news about the impending war. Unfortunately, not many people were willing to lend a hand, but a few of us stepped up. Together, we trained and Rick assisted me in uncovering more about my prophecy and abilities. Each day that passed, our power grew stronger.

Two weeks flew by, leaving us with only seven days until the war. We were all scared, but our determination to emerge victorious outweighed our fear.

During a training session with Lunar, Rick approached me and requested that I follow him to a secluded spot for a private conversation.

"Makayla, I've been doing some research and it seems that you're not the only one who has been bestowed with unique abilities by our ancient ancestors. There is someone else," Rick explained.

"Really? Do you know who it is?" I asked eagerly.

"No, unfortunately I don't, but we need to inform the others about this," Rick replied.

"Of course, we must be honest with them," I agreed, ready to walk away.

"Makayla, wait. There's something else. In the upcoming war, you will have to utilize your black magic. However, using your dark powers too frequently... it may take control of you," Rick warned.

"You mean I could lose control?" I asked, my heart pounding in my chest.

Rick nodded solemnly. "Yes, that is a possibility. Black magic is potent, but it can also be perilous. It is crucial that you learn to control it and prevent it from consuming you."

A mix of fear and determination washed over me. I had always been aware of the risks that came with my black magic, but hearing it confirmed by Rick made it all the more real. I couldn't allow myself to become a puppet of darkness.

"I understand," I said, my voice steady. "I will do whatever it takes to control my powers and ensure they do not overpower me."

Rick smiled, a blend of pride and concern in his eyes. "I believe in you, Makayla. You possess the strength and willpower to overcome any challenge. Just remember, you are not alone in this. We are all here to support you."

I nodded, grateful for Rick's support. We made our way back to the training area, where the others were waiting. I gathered everyone together and shared the news about the potential existence of another individual with unique abilities.

"We do not know who this person is or what their powers entail," I explained. "But we must be prepared for anything. We cannot let our guard down."

The group listened attentively, their expressions a mix of curiosity and determination. We were all in this together, fighting for our lives and the future of our world.

"It's Lucas and I," Ezra spoke up. "We wanted to inform all of you, but we were waiting for the right moment."

I looked at Lucas with disappointment in my eyes. "Why didn't you tell me, Lucas? We are together now, aren't we?"

"Trust me, Makayla, I wanted to tell you. However, I was afraid that if I did, all of you would be too focused on helping Ezra and me discover more about our prophecy, and you wouldn't focus on yourselves," Lucas explained.

"We do not have time for this. The war is happening tomorrow, and we must prepare ourselves," I said firmly.

We all returned to our rooms to get some rest and ready ourselves for the impending war.

I heard a knock on my door and went to see who it was.

"Lucas, you should be sleeping. What are you doing here?" I asked.

"I just wanted to apologize for not telling you about Ezra and me. I was afraid to tell you, and I know I am in the wrong... Makayla, promise me that you won't do anything I wouldn't do tomorrow," Lucas pleaded.

I looked at Lucas, sincerity and regret evident in his eyes. Despite my initial anger, I couldn't help but feel sympathy for him. We were all under immense pressure and fear, which sometimes led us to make mistakes.

"I promise," I said softly, reaching out to touch his arm. "I understand why you didn't tell me, and I forgive you. We are in this together, and we need to have complete trust in each other if we are going to survive tomorrow."

Lucas nodded, a small smile appearing on his face. "Thank you, Makayla. I love you."

With that, he kissed me, hugged me, and then returned to his room. I knew that tomorrow would be the ultimate test of our lives, and we had to be united and focused if we were going to emerge victorious.

The next morning, we gathered in the courtyard, prepared to face the impending war. Tension and anticipation filled the air. The elders led us in a final prayer, seeking strength and protection for the battles that lay ahead.

As we lined up, I took a deep breath, attempting to calm my racing heart. I glanced at Lucas, who gave me a reassuring nod. We were ready. We were prepared to fight for our lives, our loved ones, and the future of our world.

With unwavering determination, we set off towards the battlefield, ready to confront whatever challenges awaited us. We had trained, we had prepared, and now it was time to put everything we had learned to the ultimate test.

As we approached the edge of the protective barrier, we could see Astaroth, Marikah, and Asher, along with their minions, emerging in the distance.
