Lorelei had awoken to two arms being wrapped around her. She felt someone's hot breath against her neck. She could hear them breathing. She turned to see Damon, fast asleep. She smiled at his sleeping form. He was rather cute when he slept. She took in his appearance and made a mental note of it. He looked so peaceful. Then, his eyes snapped open. A smirk appeared on his face

"Enjoying the show?" He asked cockily. Lorelei rolled her eyes and went to get out of bed when Damon pulled her back down

"Excuse me?" She asked

"A couple more minutes" He said. She managed to get out of his arms

"No. Get out of my room. I need to get ready" She told him. He scoffed

"It's not like I haven't seen it all before" He said with that cocky grin

"Yeah, yeah. Now get out" Lorelei told him. He sighed and stood up. He went to leave before he turned and looked at her. She stared at him confused

"You're beautiful" He said before he left. Lorelei just kind of stood there, processing what had just happened. It was so unexpected. She didn't even know how to react. It was weird to her. Whenever Damon complimented her, it was always in lustful manner, but this.. it was different. It gave Lorelei butterflies, and she wasn't sure she liked that

Lorelei was at the Grill, drinking. She refused to go back to the Salvatore house after what had happened this morning. She didn't want to face Damon. She continued drinking when a man sat beside her

"You're a day drinker too?" He asked with a chuckle

"It's happy hour somewhere" She said. He laughed

"I will drink to that" He said as he downed a shot

"My name's Lorelei or Lori, you can call me either" She told the man

"Alaric.. or Ric.. whichever you prefer" He said

"Okay Ric" She said

"Okay Lori" He said

"I have a feeling we're gonna be great friends" She said

"I need new drinking buddies, so.." He trailed off with a smile

"So, what's your alcoholism story?" Lorelei asked

"Ooh.. starting off strong. Okay, I'm a widow. My wife was murdered.. it's a cold case" Ric said. Lorelei looked at him sadly

"Damn that sucks" She said

"No kidding. What about you? Tell me why you're an alcoholic" He said. Lorelei thought back

"God, I swear I've been drinking since I could walk. Um, but it got really bad in High School. I had this boyfriend who would constantly cheat on me but I'd never leave him. High School me was such a dumbass" She told him. He chuckled

"Hey, I was wondering if you'd be interested in chaperoning for the high school decade dance.. honestly there aren't a lot, but hey.. spiked punch" Ric told her

"You had me at spiked punch" She said causing them both to laugh

"Yeah, no I'll be there. Ooh now, I'll have to go buy an outfit" She said as she stood up

"I'll see you around, Lori" Ric said

"Bye!" She said before she left
