I stood pacing around our bedroom, I had started biting my nails but ended up chewing on my finger and sipping my own blood as I did. 

What is Ava is right?

What if I am pregnant? 

Do vampires take pregnancy tests? 

do they need vampire-specific pregnancy tests?

What if I need to go to a doctor? 

Can I go to a doctor?

Do I have to go to a vampire-specific doctor? 

I need to talk to thomas. 

I got into one of my little blue dresses and headed through the house finding him in the gallery, he stood working on a painting, he had a photo of our wedding pinned to the easel the lines already drawn and now he was working on some base colour painting. 

"Thomas?" I spoke up 

he jumped and turned setting his paint stuff down 

"Awww hello darling" he smiled taking my hand and tugging me into his chest wrapping an arm around his waist "I was just wondering where you were" He smiled "You here to be a lovely model for me?" he smirked giving me a soft kiss "Humm... you've been drinking your own blood?" he chuckled licking his lips 

"I have" I nodded sheepishly 

"What's the matter?" he asked

"Can I ask you about something?" I began

"Of course, ask away darling" he smiled kissing my head and picking up his paint again so I came and sat down beside where he worked 

"Has your mother told you what her pregnancy with you was like?"

"Somewhat. said she was cranky, hormonal, cried all the time. That's about it, most of the time if I ask she just talks about how much of a dick my dad was about it all." 

"But you remember what your mother was like when she was pregnant with Ava?"

"Kinda... I was young I didn't pay much attention" He laughed 

"and when vampires get pregnant they give birth to vampire babies? even if one of the parents wasn't born a vampire?"

"Yes. No matter how you mix it babies always come out vampires something about vampire genetics is it strong" he explained 

"And... Given the heightened smell, and other senses, is it easy to tell when vampires are pregnant?"

"Depends," he shrugs "How far along they are, how strong the blood is, how hormonal they are" He explained "I know what's going on" he chuckled

"You do?" I asked a little sheepish

"You have baby brain"

"Baby brain?" I argued 

"You have babies on the brain" He laughs "I think it's adorable" He cooed kissing my head "My lovely darling wifey getting all baby-brained if you want to talk about little ones then we'll talk about it" 

"Well, How would you feel about children?" I asked 

"Well, we have to make sure they'll be a little lord or lady to take care of the house someday" he smiled "Vampires are big on family, so long story short. Yes. I want kids. Pretty sure I told you that before we got married" 

"I know but... things might change"

"I don't think so" he laughed "I take it your less enthusiastic?" 

"No, I want them I just... I don't know, we have forever. We literally have forever to have children"

"True. But I've lived long enough I don't mind it's to my young wife" he winked 

I held my breath watching him as he worked for a while 

"I might be pregnant." 

"what-" He froze up 

"I might be pregnant," I repeated 

"....right." He nodded setting his stuff down and running a hand through his hair settling it on his hip "What has... led you to this conclusion?" 

"Well, My emotions are a rollercoaster." 

"You could just be near your period?"

"It's not due."

"Okay..."

"I am drinking so much blood."

"You are still finishing off the change, the thirst should be fading by now is it not?"

"No, it's only getting worse."

"Anything else?"

"Ava brought it up. She said it was strange." 

"Not to be rude darling but Ava has no idea." He said, "Are you worried?" he asked kneeling at my feet and holding my hands 

"a little. The thoughts have been put in my mind now. I need to know."

"Then we'll find out" he smiled "I promise" he smiled getting to his feet and helping me up with him "What if you are?"

"If I'm pregnant? Then I guess we need to think about a nursery" 

he cracked a smile and kissed my forehead "No matter what, I'm here. No matter what you choose I'll support you"

"Choose?"

"If you think... maybe it's too soon. I understand"

"That's an option?"

"It's always an option. if that's what you want it can be arranged. No matter what you my wife, I love you, and I'll be here for you no matter what" 

"Thank you thomas" I smiled pulling him into a tight hug

"Shall we go find out?"

"In a little while, I want to help with the painting first" I smiled 

"Aww of course" he smiled tugging me over and wrapping his arms around my waist "I've been doing my best, trying to capture just how beautiful you looked"

"I need to keep an eye on you, you'll try to make me far too pretty"

"you over estimate my ability" he laughs giving my cheek a kiss
