Mizuto slowly opened Aoi’s door. She had left earlier to go get some things from the mall. He walked in and started looking around the room.
“Why the heck would Aoi have one of the rings?” Mizuto mumbled to himself in confusion.
He noticed something on top of a tall shelf. Something Aoi would never be able to reach. Mizuto stood on his tippy toes and reached up. He felt a box and moved it off the top shelf. Mizuto caught the box and set it on the ground. After opening it up, his eyes widened. There it was. One of Azu’s rings.
“Aoi… Why?” Mizuto shook his head.
“So your sister is the killer?” Azu tilted her head.
“I doubt it. She wouldn’t do anything like this.”
“Well think about it. Hasn’t she been really quiet lately? Don’t you think she has something to do with it?”
“No. She didn’t do it. That’s the end of the discussion.” Mizuto stood up and looked at her. “Don’t bring this up again. We’re just gonna search for the second ring.”
“Whatever.” She rolled her eyes, then disappeared.

Mizuto sat through the school day thinking of the ring and where he found it. He didn’t want to believe that Aoi was Azu’s killer. There’s no way that’s possible. Mizuto looked out the window and noticed it was already snowing. He almost forgot that winter rapidly approached. The final bell rang, and all the kid’s Sakura High School started running out. They all wanted to get home as fast as they could. The atmosphere outside changed. Mizuto and Naru played around in the snow. They built a snowman and had some snowball fights. When they were done acting like little kids, they stopped at a shop to get some hot chocolate. Naru held onto Mizuto’s hand and smiled softly.
“Thanks for spending this afternoon with me.”
“Of course. Any time with you is a great time. However, I have to head over to Ikari’s house in about an hour. I promised him I’d sleep over for the night.”
“You never sleep over at my house.” Naru sighed.
“You never invite me.”
“Exactly! You’re supposed to invite me over to your house!” She whined.
“Okay, okay. Do you wanna sleep over at my house on Monday?”
“Yes! Of course, I want to! I’ll go wherever you ask me to go.” She gave Mizuto the cutest smile ever.
At that moment, Mizuto felt like he died from happiness.

Mizuto walked up to Ikari’s house and knocked on the door. Naru decided to walk him to Ikari’s house just because. Ikari opened the door.
“Wassup Mizuto… and Naru. Didn’t expect to see you here.”
“Don’t mind me. I just wanted to walk him over here. Now you two have a good time. Don’t get too crazy, ok Mizuto?”
“Yes ma’am. No promises though.” Mizuto kissed her cheek and walked inside Ikari’s house.
Right before Ikari closed the door, the lights in the house flickered.
“Why right now?” Mizuto groaned.
“You can shut up now,” Azu growled. “Anyways, I feel a strong presence. I think it’s the 2nd ring.”
“At Ikari’s house?” Mizuto tilted his head.
“It’s coming from outside.” Azu pointed outside.
Mizuto turned around and walked outside. The snow on the ground around his house was soaked in red blood. He felt like throwing up. Azu walked up behind him.
“Who’s blood do you think that is? Maybe mine?” She chuckled.
“Not really a good time for jokes.” Mizuto noticed Naru’s body.
Her body was stuck to the wall. A crossbow was going through her forehead and into the wall. Her stomach was open and her guts were slowly falling onto the ground.
“P-Please don’t tell me…” Mizuto started to say before Azu interrupted him.
“Yep. It’s in her stomach.” She chuckled again.
Mizuto almost gagged, as he started to pull Naru’s insides out. They flopped onto the floor, which made a gross sound. He finally reached the item that was in her stomach. He pulled out Azu’s second ring.
“This makes no sense. First Aoi, and now Naru? I’m so confused.” Mizuto said.
Mizuto blinked once and was now looking at Ikari who was shaking him.
“Dude, you awake?”
“Oh… Yeah.” Mizuto nodded.
“Great. You passed out for a seco-”
Ikari was cut off. An icicle that was coming from the roof fell and penetrated Ikari’s head. Ikari fell onto the ground and his blood started soaking in the snow. Mizuto screamed as loud as he could. The front door busted open and Ikari’s parents walked out. They screamed too. The mother ran over to Ikari panicking and asking Mizuto what happened. His dad pulled out his phone and started calling 911. Mizuto stood there looking down at Ikari as he started to cry.
“No… No… No… This can’t be happening…” Mizuto screamed again.
