“Finally. We can cross Mizuto, his sister, and his father off the board.” The girl said as she drew X’s over their names on a giant board.
“Good job, Naru.” Naru’s mother said as she sat on her throne. “I’m proud of you. Sure it took 2 years, but you finally managed to kill him.”
“After my help…” The girl said.
“Azakiri, silence. You are to return to your room now.”
“Fine, whatever.” Azakiri rolled her eyes and walked out of the room.
Naru smiled at her mother.
“Sorry, it took so long. I’m just glad I’ve finally made you happy.”
“Right… Anyways. I won’t be putting you on any more tasks. Your sister will be targeting one next month. You will continue to go to school and will live the rest of your normal life until I say otherwise. Understand?”
“I’m not assigned any more Orozco’s?” Naru tilted her head.
“No.”
“What about the one in Tokyo? I can kill him…”
“I said no. Plus, rumors say that he’s the strongest. We won’t be killing him in a long time.”
“Mom, I can do it! Trust me!”
“Shut your mouth.” Naru’s mom slammed her fist on the side of the wall. “What I say goes. Now go to your room.”
“Yes, mother…” Naru sighed and walked towards the door.
Naru opened the door and walked out. She looked to the side and noticed her sister, Shika.
“Sup, sis..” Naru waved.
“Hi, Naru.” Shika nodded. “Did Mom tell you I’m being tasked with my own Orozco?”
“Yes. I heard.”
“I’m so excited. I’m glad Mom is trusting me with such an important thing. I heard I’m getting one with the name of Kazuki.” Her sister smiled.
“I’m proud of you.” Naru nodded.
“What’s up with all of those scars on your face? And your arms. And your legs…” Her smile went away.
“Nothing. I just got hurt while trying to exterminate my Orozco.”
“You better watch out, Naru. You’re at least lucky enough to have power. I was never given one.”
“Maybe one day, Sis..” Naru patted her head. “Maybe one day.”
Naru smiled at her sister, then walked away.Naru’s mother walked in a circle thinking. She held her hands up and traced a giant circle in the air. A portal formed and a man stepped out of it.
“Hello, gorgeous.” He chuckled.
“Hello, Chunya. Naru finally fulfilled her mission. Turned out his only power was to see dead people.”
“Wow, what a useless specimen. Maybe the next Orozco will have luck.”
“Why do you think the Orozco blood contains the powers you are seeking.”
“A long time ago in a meeting with Teiyo and several other people, I heard somebody say the name Orozco. Ever since then, I’ve been hoping they’d be the ones to unlock my dimension.”
“Teiyo? As in the Avatar?”
“Yes. The Avatar. The supreme life being. The one that created our world. Some day, I will destroy him and take over Earth. Until then, I need to keep searching for the one who can open the gates to the underworld.” Chunya said.
“Someday, Chunya. Someday we will both be able to rule together.”
“Yes. Together.” Chunya nodded. “Now let's hope that the next one on your list has the gift. If not, he is to be killed.”
“Right. As you wish.” She bowed.
Chunya climbed back through the portal. The portal closed and the woman snapped. The door opened and Aneko’s sister walked in.
“Hello, Mother!” She ran over to her.
“Hello, Shika. Now, your next target will be located in Floln. His name is… Kazuki.”
