Maya and Riley went their separate ways as they got to their stops.

Riley walked to her apartment while Maya walked three more blocks until the entrance to her neighbourhood was visible.

As Maya was walking, she saw an object that caught her eye. It was a daisy. Her favourite type of flower. She picked it up, then walked to the direction of her home.

As she was nearing her street, she heard the sound of metal clashing. She turned her head to the source of the sound. It was in a dark alley.

Maya knew everybody here so she knew nobody would dare to hurt her. But that didn't stop her from getting at least a bit scared.

She slowly walked to the dark alley and as she got closer, she noticed the figure. It was a boy.

"Uh, hello?" Her voice must've startled the person cause once her voice echoed through out the alley, the boy jumped from where he was standing and fell down the hard pavement.

Maya couldn't help but let out a small chuckle, but stopped when she realised who it was.

"Hey aren't you that girl from the subway?" The boy asked.

"Yeah, we dated once for like 5 seconds, remember?" Maya joked.

The boy smiled. "I'm Lucas. Lucas Friar."

"Maya Hart."

"So Maya. You live around here?" the boy, who Maya now knew as Lucas, asked.

"Yeah I live just right on that street actually." Maya pointed to the one ahead of them.

"Oh. Well I actually live in the neighbourhood beside yours but I managed to end up here. Good thing I saw you." Lucas chuckled.

"What were you doing on top of the garbage can though?" Maya asked, stifling a laugh.

"Ha ha. It's not funny! There was a rat apparently. I thought it was a pony." Lucas said, mumbling the last part.

Maya's jaw dropped, until she bursted out laughing. She couldn't believe that Lucas actually thought that the rat was a pony.

When Maya finally calmed down, she said, "You are a very interesting guy, Friar. I'd like to see you more."

Lucas pretended to tip his imaginary cowboy hat, which caused Maya to burst into fits of giggles.

"What, let me guess. You're a cowboy now?"

"Actually, I kinda am." Lucas smirked. "I'm from Texas."

Maya playfully glared at Lucas.

A few hours passed by and they realised it was already 10pm.

"Oh no, my mom and grandma are probably worried about me." Maya said as she stood up and dusted her jeans.

She held her hand out for Lucas to help him up and he gladly accepted it.

Their hands were still clasped together, so to make things go smoothly, Maya shook his hand.

"It was nice meeting you... Ranger Rick." Maya winked.

Lucas groaned. "What's up with that? Why would you choose that nickname?"

"I don't know, cowboy." She smirked.

He just shook his head and smiled. "I'll see you soon?"

"Yeah." She smiled back.

As they were walking to their own separate ways, Maya heard her name being called. She turned around and saw that it was Lucas. He jogged to the spot beside her.

"Maybe I can get your number? Who knows, maybe we won't see each other any time soon?"

"Okay Cowboy. Give me your phone." Maya took Lucas' phone and typed in her number. "Text me later saying this is you, alright? I gotta go."

"Wait Maya. One last thing." She gave him a look as if to say that he should continue.

"Where do you study?"

"John Quincy Adams." She replied.

"That's great." He smiled. "Me too."
