    Since Michael's suicide, Sugar has been worried about her little brother, who had the crazy idea, as the eldest Berzatto child said, of taking over The Original Beef of Chicagoland. Michael's run-down restaurant.
    In recent years, Carmy had become an award-winning star chef working in a gourmet restaurant in New York. What would someone like that be doing in a run-down sandwich shop? The two were worlds apart. That was a waste of talent.
    At the age of twenty-one, Carmy won the award for best up-and-coming chef. Worldwide recognition and fame followed, including three Michelin stars. Now it had become his life's mission to save Michael's place.
    No wonder Sugar was worried, if only because she didn't want Carmy to suffer the same fate as her brother.
