Liana Dunbar grew up bullied after her dad left along with suffering from IED and other anger issues. She also has a phobia of the dark and tight spaces after her dad's abuse. Following her dad leaving her, she barely trusts anyone now afraid that they are going to leave her as well. Falling in love? Forget about it. She wouldn't trust anyone with her heart in any way. At least until an arrogant Chimera.
Theo Raeken is a teen who was taken by three creepy doctors at the age of 11. He watched his sister die and then received her heart. He was experimented on and abused. He was taught how to be manipulative. He was never allowed anything for himself. When he comes back for a pack, he doesn't expect Liana Dunbar.
Throughout their story, they both learn that they can count on other people other than themselves. They also learn not to give a shit about anyone but themselves.
