It's been eight months since Luna and her father settled down after the kidnapping.
They held a private funeral for her mother, who was buried in the Hildegard graveyard.
Luna noticed her father would visit her monthly and replace her flowers with new ones. He decided to bring Luna along on the whim and they started going together.
Although for eight months, they have never truly been in a conversation, just small talks about weather, and her occasional lessons of noble history and etiquettes.
Luna was always looking at her father with curious eyes. She couldn't get what he said to her, never abandoning her again. She can't get a solid definite proof until she reaches sixteen years old because that's when everything starts. The start of her downfall as the villainess of high society.
Villainess was just a title, she never did anything bad. She was just at the wrong place at the wrong time.
They sat under the gazebo in the Hildegard garden while drinking tea. The carefully trimmed hedge showed their color with white snow on its small branches. The garden was full of flowers and plants that only bloom in cold temperatures. They covered the garden in hues of blue and pink alongside with the soils covered in snow. They survived the harshest of winter and they are the main symbol of flowers in the north.
The Dandelion of blue represents the strength of the roots and the salmon pink roses represents the beauty in the harshest condition. And they are always together, they are known as Elskan meaning my love, my darling.
"Mother, love those flowers." Luna couldn't help but mutter that out loud. Her father stopped drinking his tea midway, he looked at her and stayed silent. Luna noticed his pain. To her, she had already accepted the fact that she will never see her again. She remembers her fondly even behind her fuzzy memories, Luna remembers her warmth and love.
"Are you lonely?" Her father asked. She flinched when he said that and even gave her goosebumps, never in her life would have thought her father would be worried for her to be so direct.
"Um. No. As long as you are around, I don't need anybody." She said with fake excitement in a childish manner.
Luna, after living with him for eight months, started to realize the way her father operates. He doesn't show much emotion when showing fatherly love, he mostly does it through action. Not much different from what he usually acts from her old life except that in this life, he is actually talking to her instead of ignoring. When her father was hit on the head, the first impression of a doting father went away, she still had her suspicions whether that was the trigger of his regression.
"Hmmmm." He was in deep thought. What was he thinking so deeply about, Luna thought.
"Let's invite the Baron of Wicheria's daughter. I heard she wanted to see what the north is like." Her father said. She was in dismay.
Why is father inviting the protagonist here? Did something happen in those eight months? Luna would sneak into his office and read his paperwork and all of it was just simple trade dealing with the dukedom of Frederick and some reforms that were apparents in the future. Luna wonders if he met her fated doom's father.
"Is there something wrong? You don't want that?" He asked with a stone face.
"Umm..no father. I think that would be lovely." Luna controlled her outburst and simply smiled.
"I see. She is a lovely young lady, I heard. You two will be great friends." He said. Luna gave him a forced smile "I can't wait to meet her." Luna sips her tea.
"Good. She will be coming here in an hour." He bluntly said. Luna almost choked on her tea.
"Is there something wrong Luna?" He asked.
