Miltia and I sat quietly on the gondola back up to Beacon. Qrow and I said our goodbyes about an hour before, I didn't feel like heartfelt goodbyes, and I still don't feel like this was a victory in any sense of the word. I didn't say anything to Miltia after we found Junior's body, I just put my apartment into lockdown and left, but when I got to the gondola she just wordlessly followed. I can tell that she's pissed at the outcome, her sister was unavenged, but right now she just looked tired understandable since I doubt she got much sleep through the torture and we worked throughout the night after. She probably just wanted to stick with familiar faces and had nowhere else to go, and I'm not going to just send her away.
After awhile we got close to Beacon and I couldn't smell Jack's scent or anyone else's, Jack would know I was here from the tracker in my belt. He's still upset with me and didn't tell anyone else I was close. I could however catch the scent of coffee on the breeze. Ozpin.
I sighed and walked towards the forward-facing window. As our ride lurched to a stop I saw him just waiting for us. I walked off the freshly lowered gangplank and towards Ozpin, I could hear Miltia following me.
"Ozpin, this is Miltia Malachite," I said simply gesturing toward her "She will be staying with us for awhile,"
"I would like to have a discussion first," He replied and I crossed my arms
"Can she at least sleep first, she's had a rough couple of days,"
"Of course, I do believe your old bed is still in Jack's room," He said "And what will you do,"
"I need to blow off steam, then attempt to mend fences," I said as he produced another mug of coffee from behind his back that I didn't even clock somehow, and offered it to me.
"Very well, I can show her where she will be sleeping," I could hear Miltia's heartbeat speed up at the prospect of being left alone with Ozpin.
I took the cup "I've got it, I'll use the time to drink this," I could hear Miltia's heartbeat slow back to normal as I took off the necklace that Ozpin used to monitor me and offered it back to him.
He wordlessly took it back and I walked past him to Jack's room with Miltia in tow. I looked at the clock it was 6 in the morning, and classes hadn't begun yet. Hopefully, everyone is asleep yet. I sipped on the coffee as we made our way through the halls. I could feel Miltia's anxiety radiating into my back.
"You can relax here, I've been here for long enough to know," I said simply as we continued "You'll be rooming with Jack for now,"
"How long can I rest here?" She asked quietly
"At least the day, I don't know what Ozpin will be expecting from you. If he lets you stay I doubt he'll just let you lounge around," I said as we approached the dorm and I turned the handle. I only got it halfway turned before I heard a strange click, and activated my aura as I went deaf and blind, I felt myself get launched through the door across the hall. I definitely went unconscious, don't know for how long. I groaned as I laid on my back bringing my hand in front of my face to assess the damage. My sight was blurry, but coming back. My ears were ringing constantly, and I sat up.
I felt myself get dragged up by my collar to see a very angry and confused Yang, or the blurry outline of her. She was definitely screaming in my face, but all I could do was weakly point to my ears and try to say "I can't hear you, give me a second,"
I dropped to the floor as I felt her get yanked away. I felt another set of hands lift me up and set me on something soft as I could vaguely hear shouting. I put my head in my hands and waited for the room to stop spinning. I felt a hand under my chin pulling my head up. My vision refocused on Blake's face, she had a concerned look on her face and was asking me something. The ringing in my ears started to fade to a dull hum, and I looked around the room. Miltia was standing in front of me in a defensive stance, she must've got Yang off of me, while Yang was being held back by Ruby and Weiss was fuming in the corner. I looked towards the door to see a shocked Jack with one of my old revolvers dropped by his feet.
