I was sitting in an extremely comfortable leather armchair, on the other side of Junior's large wooden desk in his lavish office overlooking the club. It was a very modern, it was mainly purple with a one-way largely reinforced glass floor meant to withstand Junior's rocket launcher(developed by Jack and tested thoroughly and enthusiastically by Junior) and large one way reinforced glass window so that Junior could monitor his patron's. I had just finished catching my associate up on tonight's recent events. The twins were standing by the window looking out on the club, probably hoping for a fight.
"So you didn't kill them?" Junior asked curiously "And I assume they won't leave town, you should've killed them, Smuggler,"
"We don't know enough about them, if I had killed them another may have taken their place and we'd be target number one," I informed them "We may be high on their list now, but we shouldn't be on top of it,"
"Crimson, what if she storms in here right now and shoots up the place, just to kill us?" He asked with mild irritation in his tone, he gestured to the twins. "What if she kidnaps the twins and tortures them to death. What if she bombs the club? What if she tortures your little faunus freak-,"
"Watch your fuckin' tone or I'll cut out your tongue," I warned anger creeping into my voice "We'd both be dead many times over if not for that 'faunus freak' so if you have a problem with him I strongly suggest you keep it to yourself,"
Junior looked at me with a start and I could hear his heartbeat speed up, the twins looked over with interest. Junior may be my closest business associate, but Jack is my friend. I took a breath.
"Cinder won't come here, she's smart and sticking to the shadows, taking out a couple of criminals makes her shine in the world of criminals," I said leaning back "But if she were to start shooting up nightclubs especially Vale's most popular one, her anonymity to hunters and cops alike would be ruined. Even if she were to use henchmen or any of her associates it would inevitably and eventually be traced back to her. We're safe under this roof, but we can't hide here forever."
"So what your plan?" He asked leaning forward.
"I need you to find Roman Torchwick, we find a connection to her and we can find her?" I said as I stood up.
"I already know where he is," He said as a matter of fact.
"Where?" I asked curiously.
"He bought some manpower a couple of days ago to help knock over a dust store tonight, I'll send you an address," He said pulling out his scroll.
"And you sold to him?" I started curious, but not angry "knowing full well that I banned him from Vale?"
Junior looked up from his scroll "One, business is business, and two, I figured it'd be better to sell to him and keep tabs on him then to have him go elsewhere and have no information."
"Fair enough," I said as my scroll dinged, I looked over at the twins "Wanna make some Lien?"
They each raised an eyebrow
"What's the job?" Melanie asked
"I need one of you to watch over Jack while I'm gone, and the other to get him anything he needs to keep him here," I informed them.
They looked at each other with boredom, then back at me with slight disgust of wasting their skills.
"Not interested," Miltia stated simply.
I thought for a second, "What if he overhauls your gear?" I asked curiously
They looked at each other again, the twins have seen Jack's work firsthand and know it's quality. After a moment of thought, they looked at me and nodded and left Junior's office. I looked back at Junior,
