And just like that, we are days from welcoming the twins!!

"Ali. How are you feeling." I asked making a tea for her.

"I feel great Sandra. Relax. The due date's not for another week." Ali said sounding frustrated, "You know this is my house, right?"

"I know but you're carrying twins. You should be in bed. Most woman don't carry full term." I reported like a pamphlet I read at the OB's office some time ago.

"I'm not like other woman, Sandra." Ali barked back.

I brought Ali's and my teas to her kitchen table.

"You know you can drink coffee?" Ali said as she looked at my mug.

"I know, but i thought until the babies are born, I won't drink coffee." I said taking a small sip form my tea.

"Sandra, please. You don't like tea. Make yourself a coffee." Ali said with some persistence.

"Ali. I'm fine drinking my tea." I said getting slightly annoyed.

Ali crosses her arms over her belly, "Okay. What's up.?"

"Nothing."

"Sandra, i know you. What the fuck is wrong."

I looked at Ali in shock, " Ali. What your language. Do you know they say that Babbage's hear us talking out here."

"Do you think the twins are going to pop out and say 'fuck' as their first words?" Ali snapped back.

I took a deep breath. I didn't want to fight with my best friend right now, " I'm worried." I admitted.

"Sandra, the doctors have been telling us the this pregnancy is going super good, and Josh is a doctor and is watching me all the time. We're good."

I looked at Ali with sadness, " No you're good. Your pregnancy is going well."

Ali looked at me with fear, " Sandra you're pregnant too, unless..."

"No my baby is good... it's just..."

Ali leans up on her chair towards me, "Sandra, tell me what's wrong then?"

I felt so stupid, but the fear is so great that I couldn't conceal it any longer, "Ali, what if the twins don't feel that I'm their mom. What if I don't feel connected to them?"

Ali burst out laughing, " Are you serious. Sandra you talk to them, you sing baby songs when your around me, you make sure I'm taken care of and eat and drink the way you would in your pregnancy," i look down, "it's normal i guess to feel outside of this pregnancy, especially now that you're pregnant yourself."

"I feel like if i had waited a little longer, Jordan and I could make a family on our own."

"But we didn't know. And you didn't know if you would be with Jordan this long." Ali took my hands, "Sandra believe in something bigger then you. I got pregnant by chance. You tried to have children and adopted children and it never happened. Then we find out it's twins, and Jordan is willing and lovingly staying for you and the babies. Stop worrying. You ARE going to be the BEST mom ever...to all three periods babies."

That's why we have best friends. To remind you what you have. I smiled at Ali, "thank you, for everything. Everything you have done for me."

Ali smiles, " No thank you. Have you seen my life. I was this free-go-out-there woman, not giving two shits about much. Have a job, sleep with sexy men and have a few laughs about it. Then i get pregnant and i have a best friend badly wanting to be a mother. Since pregnancy I didn't hunt for sexy man and found one hot fantasy doctor, who I'm now engaged to. Life's a ride, Sandra. Sometimes, you just ride it."
