Alison's cousin was right. The property was huge. The driveway alone was its own road. The property was flat with a variety of trees sporadically throughout the property. There was a forest on the back end and a huge barn, painted in a burgundy colour with white trim. There was a huge house with a wrap around porch. I hope I can have my morning coffee there; and about 4 smaller houses situated around the property.

When Alison parked the car in front of the huge house, we both sat there taking in the view.

"How rich do you think this family is?" Alison spoke in awe.

"Ail!" I shouted at her.

Ali looked at me, "Oh come on. Tell me you weren't thinking the same thing."

I was. "Yeah but I didn't say it out loud." I said pulling the car shade down to look at myself in the mirror.

"You're right," Alison said taking out her press powder from her bag, " we have to look like a million bucks." She stopped for a second, " or at least that we have some money."

I looked at Alison, " Ali. Just relax. Let's act like civilized women and not desperate, horny, cougars."

Alison made a face looking at me, "haha." Alison put her press powder away and finger through her hair, "Are you ready?" She asked me.

"Yeah, lets go." I said as we simultaneously open our car doors.

As we walked to the stairs of the wrap around porch, the front door open and out ran a beautiful young women.

"ALI!" The women screeched running towards Alison. She jumped into Alison's arms, hugging her tight.

"Elizabeth! Oh my God, it so nice to see you!" Alison responded and returned the hug.

The young lady looked at Alison, " I'm so happy you came to my wedding."

Alison smiled with joy, "I wouldn't miss it for the world, Lizzy-Boo."

Elizabeth face changed into fear, "Don't call me that. I'm not 10 anymore."

Alison laughed, "You are to me," Elizabeth slightly slaps Alison on the arm, "Ok..ok what do I call you then...Liz?"

"Yes," Elizabeth answered.

"Ok, Liz, this is my best friend, Sandra."

I smiled and extended my hand, "Hi. Congratulations."

Elizabeth smiled at me in excitement, "It's all hugs from me," Elizabeth said and launched at me with a big hug.

I smiled and hugged her back. I couldn't help but remember how excited I was for my wedding and yes I have to admit, the days leading to my special day I was hugging and kissing everyone too.

"Ok, I have a surprise for you," Elizabeth said to Alison. She looked at me, " Maybe for the two of you, but I've been sworn to secrecy, to say nothing to nobody." Elizabeth smiled and jolted with excitement, "But tonight, at dinner you will know the surprise when you see it."

"Please tell me you're not going to sing tonight." Alison questioned.

"No." Elizabeth answered with a laugh, "Let's grab your stuff and I'll take you to your house."

We grabbed our bags and followed Elizabeth on a path down the side of the huge house. I took a deep breath of the afternoon breeze and closed my eyes for just a few seconds. This was what I really needed.
Air.
Space.
Time.
I was going to take every moment in for myself.

Alison's cousin, Elizabeth, grew up near here so Alison mainly saw Elizabeth in the summer and a few Holidays. Alison's parents met at university in Toronto and decided to stay there.

"Here you go ladies. The cabin is all yours. It was a a kitchenette, a washroom with a bath and shower. Two bedroom and a loaf and tv with streaming box." Elizabeth announced as we walked into the little house.
Alison and I had our mouths open, "Liz, who's family are you marring. Ryan Reynolds's ?"

Elizabeth laughed, "NO. Now, dinner is at 5 pm sharp. You ladies have about 2 hours, so rest and enjoy exploring your new home for the next few days." Elizabeth walked over to Alison, "I'm so happy you came. I love you."

Alison turned around and gave Elizabeth a kiss on her forehead, "I wouldn't missed this for the world, Lizzy-Boo'

Elizabeth rolled her eyes and blew a kiss to me as she walked out the door.

Alison looked at me wide eye, "ok, I'm hunting for a man on the groom's side."

I rolled my eyes, " Alison focus here. It's Liz's wedding."

"Yes. She's marring one of them and I'll find another."

I laugh. I do admire Alison care free spirit. She never seems worried about being married. She claims she never felt the urge to settle and live with one person.

Alison laid across the couch, "Oh i needed this stretch."

I sat on the single chair across from Alison, "What surprise do you think Liz has planned?"
I hate surprises, especially after the one my ex gave me.

"I don't know." Alison pounded, " Maybe Liz found us hot dates."

I laughed at the though, "wouldn't that be something."

Alison laughed, " I wouldn't be surprise if she did." Alison sat up on the couch and looked t me, " How are you holding up?'

I smiled at Alison, " I'm good. This place is beautiful. I'll be able to do my morning runs and some meditation."

"I mean emotionally." Alison said with more empathy.

"I'm good. Not sure on the wedding day, but your cousin has such an energy that I think I'll be able to soak some of it in."

"Yeah, Lizzy-Boo was always a ball of fire." Alison said with a laugh, "Well, let's get ready for the 'meet the family' dinner."

Alison and I unpacked and got ready. The cabin was absolutely stunning for a location in western Ontario. While taking my shower I found myself wondering what the Grooms family did for a living and can I follow their path. I might be 45 years young, but its never too late to work hard.

I put on my black jean skirt and white tank top. I carried my shrug in my hand incase it gets cooler in the evening. I wore my low heel beige sandals to show off my pricy deep red pedicure. I wore my hair down. In the summer my brown hair gets nightlights of copper and gold from the sun and the summer warm breeze gives my hair the beach look.

"Ta-da" Alison announce when she finally walked out of her bedroom. "How do i look?" She asked me as she twirled around.

I giggle. Alison is Alison and there is never a time that you do know who she is. She stands out with her personality and style. Alison wore her black sequence dress. Which was great for the wedding but, in my opinion, too much for a country like wedding. She had on her black high heels and her hair sprayed to give a wet look.

I smiled at my 'over-the-top' best friend, "You look fantastic."

"Perfect. That was the look i was going for." Alison said as she walked over to the door.

I wouldn't be surprised if she get a handsome young man in bed tonight.

Awe, i love Ali and Liz's relationship!
Ali must have been a great older cousin.

And the property!! Wow i wonder what family Liz is marrying into?

I hope Sandra gets some needed rest and recovery from their mini vacation. I surly hope she can make it through the wedding too.

Until next time...
