Chapter 29: Cyrus's Day

"I am doing what today?!" I question Luna.

"I said Anna and I are going shopping today. You and Kavin will hang out and have a bro hang out."

I stared at her. "It sounds like a playdate. Do I need to hang out with Kavin?"

Luna turns to give her famous stare-down. "You like Kavin! What's the problem?"

"I like Kavin! He is a funny, chill guy, but we never hang out or have a deep talk about anything."

"Then this is a perfect opportunity for you to bond with him! Let's go!"

I roll my eyes. "Fine, only because I care way too much for you." Then I leaned down to give her a kiss on her cheek.

She chucked. "It will be fun."

Arriving at Kavin's house, Luna and Anna chat in the kitchen, discussing where they want to shop today.

I turn to look at Kavin. He is sitting on my right beside me on a brown leather couch. A TV was on and playing Cartoon Network. Kavin looked equally loose as me, but he kept his eyes glued to the TV as if that would give him all the answers.

Then, the girls walk into the room. "Okay, we are off now," Luna announces.

"We will be back in a couple hours. You boys have fun!" Anna says, blowing a kiss to Kavin.

Luna walked over to me and rubbed her hand through my hair. "Play nice. Then she kissed my cheek."

"Bye, have fun." I and Kavin called out as they exited the house.

Then, there was silence after they left. This may be a long couple of hours.

"Want to watch a show or a movie?" I ask Kavin.

Before Kavin could answer me. The Steven Universe theme song started to play. We both look at the TV. The show must have switched.

"Man, I have not seen this show in years," I stated.

"Same! I have not watched this show since middle school." Kavin answers

"Who's your favorite character?"

"Amethyst," he answers.

"Peridot is my favorite."

Kavin chuckles. "Peridot is so fucking funny! All the characters are amazing!"

I looked at him. "Want to watch the show from the beginning?"

He looked at me. "Dude, did you just read my brain? Hell, yes!"

That's what we did: we watched Steven Universe for three hours. Kavin and I started to chat about the show and other shows we liked. While watching the show, we got so many snacks. I even threw popcorn into Kavin's mouth.

After many hours of watching, Kavin was in the bathroom, and I started to look at his video games. He had Mario Kart, and Smash Brothers! Kavin had many games.

"Dude, you have so many amazing video games! I love Mario Kart." I said to Kavin, coming back to the couch.

"Cyrus Jackson, dare I challenge you, Mario Kart! He booms, standing on the coffee table.

I chuckle, giving a half smile. "You're on!"

For the first two rounds of Mario Kart, I crushed Kavin. In the thread round, he won. He cheered so loud when he won.

We played that for an hour. At one point, while we were playing on the Rainbow Road stage. Kavin tried to intercept my controller. As revenge, I decided to do the same to him. I won that round.
