After Demetri's exit, we all turn expectantly to Mark. I know that I'm not the only one who is curious about comment about Yale and his hunger. The only ones who don't seem to be curious are Yale and Lucas, but I suspect Demetri probably already told them the "big secret".

"Well? What was Demetri talking about?" I ask impatiently. Mark chuckles and shakes his head at me. I growl playfully, knowing he's teasing me on purpose. He knows how much I hate mysteries and secrets. I give him a look, sticking out my bottom lip in a pout. What? I can be cute when I need to be.

Mark groans before a smile sneaks onto his face. "Okay, okay. Put the big guns away." I smile sweetly at him, to which he rolls his eyes. "Well, you know when a wolf mates another, they form a special bond. Normally, all that happens is the mates are able to contact each other over long distances and sense each others emotions; sometimes they are even able to share their power. But that's normal. If a wolf mates with say, a vampire, the thirst for blood the vampire feels lessons substantially. I don't really understand how it works. Because it's so rare for a vampire to be mated to a wolf, we don't really have anything to compare it too. We have just assumed that what has happened between Yale and Lucas is normal for this situation."

He pauses for a moment. "All I know is that Yale's hunger seems to be...", his hands wave around in the air as if grasping for words, "...shared?"

So that means that Lucas feels some of Yale's hunger for blood? Does that mean that Lucas could potentially turn into a blood-sucking vampire? I ask Mark the first question, not wanting to offend anyone with the second.

"Yes, to an extent. But it is both mine and Demetri's belief that Lucas will barely notice, since he has his own hunger. The hunger to hunt." He looks at Lucas, pleading with his eyes for some help. I refrain from chuckling. He's so cute when he's clueless.

Lucas smiles as if he heard my thought. God, I hope not. "Well you know that, as a wolf, we have a hunger to hunt. We hunt. We kill. We feed. Like any other predator. Since I feed on raw meat anyway, both mine and Yale's hunger are quelled." He smiles at me. "And don't worry. Yale is able to live on animal blood, unlike other vampires. And you don't have to worry about me either. I won't be turning into a ravaging blood-thirsty vampire whose sole intent is biting your neck and sucking you dry."

He winks at me. "Besides, I doubt it will be you that I bite and suck." He wiggles his eyebrows at me and wraps his arms around Yale. I raise my hands in front of me and scrunch up my face. I think he just blinded my ears.

"Okay. That's nice to know. Now I'm going to have nightmares for the rest of my life." Lucas only smiles evilly at me and kisses Yale's head. Of course I'm happy for them both. But I definitely don't want those kind of images in my head, thank you very much. What they get up to behind closed doors is none of my business.

"You two are definitely made for each other," I state. Lucas gives me a massive grin and grips Yale's chin, placing his lips over Yale's. Ick. I cover my eyes in mock horror and I hear Lucas's chuckle.

"Speaking of being made for each other...." Lucas looks between me and Mark with an eyebrow raised. I put my hands over my mouth and cough, trying to hide the heat emitting from my cheeks. I cast a sideways glance at Mark to see his face as scarlet as my own. If not more. I can practically feel the heat coming from him. Good to know I'm not alone.

I hear all my friend laughing quietly and I shoot them all a glare. This makes them laugh even more and soon they are all but rolling around on the ground. I turn my glare to Lucas until he raises his hands. "Okay. I take it back." From the smile on his face, I know he doesn't mean it, but I let it slide. What are friends for, if not to embarrass you?
