The Raven queen

chapter 6

" Lord Saturn  ( Shani dev , planet symbol is Saturn , and he rides a raven ) thank you for such a wonderful gift. I am glad that both you and my kid is healthy. " said Asher gazing his future kid with love and satisfaction. I could see peace and happiness in his eyes and I am not sorry for what I did...not at all.

" Royal priest is back from his trip , he said that he did what you told nicely and see we have the result of his hard work. " he told , only if he knew for what his priest was working hard for. But I don't want to say those things to him as I know Asher wouldn't believe me.

" I can't wait to see our child...." said Asher , even I can't wait to see the little one. I told him " Even I want to see our child but we must wait Asher.....we waited so long for this moment , and now little more patience and we will be having our dream come true. " I told him and he nodded.

He arranged food and people for my protection and than went for his work. priest is back and I know he will do everything to hurt my child , now its my duty to protect my baby from the priest.  I told my guards to bring me some chicken eggs . They did as I told them to do , I hide the chicken eggs in my nest and now I am ready.

" General Fighter , I want you to arrange night watcher for me , I want night army  to protect my nest at night. I don't want to take any risks. " I told the general who promised me many things and left.

I am not worried about day time but at night when our vision weakens and we are at our vulnerable state some creatures attacks us and I am really scared for night. But if my plans works as I have planned than maybe I will not face any problem.

Two days later.

Two days went without any problem , I sit on the egg for maximum time of the day , Asher visits but had to leave fast , I sometimes take long flight when the guards are at watch as sitting for long makes my legs and wings sore and very painful. still I have to wait for long time to see my young ones.

Till now no accident took place and I hope it stays this way. But I am sure soon something will take place .  And I have to be extra careful for what's coming. As I came back from my long flight I saw the whole place looking like a trash , someone was here looking for the eggs but left as soon as the guards charged on them.

I wonder if I could trust general fighter ? But right now without him I don't have much hope with others. At night wise owl accompanies me and keep watch. Even today she came in time for her duty. I thanked her and went for some sleep. I am tired of all this drama and scare and slept as soon as I hit the nest.

My sleep broke by a rustling sound , something crawling up the tree , if it is what I am thinking than we are in big problem. It can't be viper ...can it ? .

viper is a venomous snake , it was once attacked by an eagle and was  left alone to die , royal priest has saved his life , named him viper and provided him a good life and in return viper does all illegal work for him. viper has a strange rattling sound whenever he travels anywhere and I know that sound too well to know it's him.

All the guards will be useless with him what should I do now ? wise owl is wide awake I can only see her two eyes burning like fire balls in the night and by her twisting and turning I know she has also felt the presence of viper.

viper is the worst enemy for me now. I did every thing to keep snakes and other enemies away but viper didn't even bothered with it. The rattling got more close , he is almost here , what can be done now ?

Their is always lamps made of light insects lit in the nest and through the dim light I  could see vipers head sticking up , my heart racing , all the guards are in chaos by shouting but no knowing where to attack , as for darkness they are particularly blind. The light in my nest is not enough for them to locate their enemy and if they do spot him what few ravens can do to a venomous snake ?

I had to fly away from my spot as wise owl pushed me aside. I could hear the crunching and munching from a distant branch.... hope it works out. After the sound got over their came a historical sound of a snake hissing like the snake  is in pain. The sound lasted for an hour than it was silence all around, stars twinkling over head like nothing had happened. And I think I did it.

In the break of dawn I went back in my nest and saw the broken chicken eggs on my nest and the dead snake in the ground. I knew priest can play dirty so I played dirtier , I brought some chicken eggs and filled them with  ' calcium cyanide ' brought by one of my friend who stays with humans.

she told this can kill my enemy in no time. I let the doctor take my egg on her nest and protect it while I sit here with the fake ones so that the enemies gets trapped in my plan and they did.

wise owl went in her nest and I told a guard to inform the king about happened and to call him as soon as possible. In no time Asher came with the royal priest , he shouted at his people for not protecting me better.

I could see a smile in priest eye as he told " Lord Saturn why are you so angry with our queen ? She did everything you said and yet you show her days like this..." he said but as soon as he spotted viper his eyes got moist and than they sparked with anger, just for a fraction of second....making me satisfied. Asher looked at the sky with moist eyes.

" You don't have to worry this are chicken eggs not my egg. My kid is safe and will be here once he hatches out of his shell but before that I can't tell where is he. Royal priest may I know how your almost family like viper knew that I am here ? " I asked him looking dead in the eye.

" Are you doubting me my queen " he asked with a dark face , I smiled and said " On the name of lord Saturn how can I do that but you must know who ever tries to hurt me or my family will end up like viper did. I will  show no mercy. " I told him and by his face I know that he knows what I mean.
