"you wouldn't say that," she was talking slowly, almost whispering. but her words were loud and clear in heeseung's head.

he took a deep breath in and looked straight in the woman's eyes. He hated that she was right."i wouldn't... because i can't hate him," he said softly, his voice cracking.

"why can't you hate him?"

heeseung shook his head, "i don't know." he whispered, feeling helpless and hopeless. he wished he could hate him. he wished he could erase him from his memory. he wished he could move on. but he couldn't.

"because in the entirety of all emotions you feel for him, there is not enough room for hate." she said, her voice gentle but firm. "you should let go of the old ones to be able to feel something else."

"do you want me to hate him?"

"you're not hearing me, heeseung. i want you to move on."

"oh my- how much cologne did you use?" sooha covered her nose as she entered the living room. she was wearing a loose-fitting nightgown, made of a soft, light-weight fabric, that reached the floor.

"shut up," jake said firmly, adjusting his tie in front of a mirror. he was wearing a dark suit and a crisp white shirt, making him look sharp and professional.

"i am glad you are allowing me to work from home so i don't have to do all of... this," she grimaced, gesturing towards jake who was paying attention to each tiny detail of his appearance.

"it's not really something i wanted to allow. but i didn't have a choice. you're my secretary, you should be with me at the office, not here."

"mhm." she said, rolling her eyes. "just fire him. i think it will solve this problem." she suggested sarcastically.

jake scoffed. "are you insane? i am not firing him."

"i was kidding. i know you are too obsessed with him." she said quietly, crossing her arms.

"i am not obsessed. i am just... puzzled."

"in your case, this is just another word for obsessed." she said, pointing out his flaw.

"don't use your psychiatric abilities on me." he was annoyed by her interference, but he knew she was right. she knew him too well.

"i bet you're gonna eat each other up as soon as you cross paths." she said, taunting him. she was amused by his predicament, but she also knew he was suffering.

"i have a thousand times more self-control than you think." he said, lying to himself.

"a thousand multiplied by zero still equals zero, sim jaeyun. you can't out-smart me."

jake sighed, putting on his shoes.

"i'm leaving," he said, opening the door.
