nelson turned to taylor, smiling. "i thought you didn't want me to come?" he asked, recalling what she said a few minutes ago.

taylor shrugged, keeping firm eye contact with nelson. "guess i changed my mind." she rolled her eyes sarcastically.

nelson laughed, "do you follow me on tiktok? i kinda wanna be mutuals with you on everything." he added.

taylor shook her head, "i don't follow you, but i will right now." she pulled out her phone and opened up tiktok, "what's your account name?"

nelson proceeded to give taylor his tiktok username, instagram username, snapchat account, and even his youtube account.

taylor added and or followed him on every platform and waited there until he followed and or added her back on every single one.

the two teens talked for a bit until jeanie came back after a few minutes. "where's austin?" taylor asked. that was the first thing she noticed was that austin wasn't with her.

"she isn't coming with us anymore." jeanie replied. taylor furrowed her eyebrows in confusion.

"oh, why's that?" nelson asked. "her mom wants to eat with her at some fancy sea food restaurant so she got picked up or is waiting to right now." jeanie answered his question.

"i'm gonna text her right now." taylor spoke.

she pulled her phone out but struggled to type since she was holding her court shoes in her other hand as well.

"here, let me hold those while you do that real quick." nelson offered, grabbing the shoes from her grasp.

"thanks." she mumbled as she clicked onto taylor's contact. "mhm." nelson answered back.

jeanie smiled softly, glancing between her daughter and this random boy she just met a few minutes ago. already cherishing their small bond they already formed in under an hour.

taylor was always good at making friends and jeanie knew that, she just sensed something a little more between the two 14 year olds.

"alright, let's start heading to the car." jeanie spoke. the trio began walking, taylor glued to her phone as she began texting austin.

"so nelson, why are you here?" jeanie started up a conversation as nelson walked
up to her. taylor didn't follow the conversation tho.
