Edeline so filled with rage and hatred, and just wanting to get out ran. That's all she did, she ran through the halls of the palace, out into the courtyard before feeling a burning sensation on her arm. She was jolted back around, facing the place and person she was trying to escape. The king, her father, the man she barely knew but at the same time knew all to well.
"What on earth are you try to pull?" Damion growled through gritted teeth, the look on his face a look Edeline had seen one too many times before and a look that terrified her. However, though she was terrified she didn't cave in as she would usually because, other than rage running through her veins there was determination.
The longer Edeline took to answer the more the anger grew in the king. "Damned child, you're going to come back inside and stop making a scene." with that the king let go of her arm. This was it, this was her chance. It was now or never, so she did what she had planned.
She ran.
She ran and she ran until she couldn't anymore. Edeline had made it to the complete opposite side of the kingdom, where the south siders resided. As stopped to catch her breath she looked around, and she couldn't believe what she was seeing. All these houses falling apart, the terrible condition of which the children played in, and most importantly how little they had. This was the first time she had been beyond the north side of the village and because of this she never though this part even existed, that it was only stories she was told she would have never dreamed that it was real. But all of this, seeing this part of the kingdom her father had built and neglected, her determinations grew. It grew bigger and bigger until she made a promise to herself, that she would fix this. things where going to change but before she could she had to change and fix herself first.
And with that she started walking, with a bounce in every step she took, repeating it all in her head 'I will fix this, I will make a difference.' and as she repeated this her pace picked up until she was running, dodging everyone in the streets on her way to save herself, to better herself.
She ran finally escaping and off she carried on into the woods and not stopping, not looking back because though she was scared of the future and what her father would do she now knew that if she turned back she would be turning her back on the future of the kingdom, on the future of her people and her own future where she would be surrounded by thousands of people but always so alone, where she wouldn't have a say and would have to carry on standing on the sidelines not being able to help.
