Ethan's Point Of View

I quickly jumped back from the television as the screen turned back to static. What the fuck did I just watch? Did Mia even know what she was getting herself into? It just didn't make any sense to me. I closed my eyes, took a deep breath, and looked to my left. There was the fireplace, the same one in the VHS tape, and the crank that Peter found attached to the ceiling of the fireplace was still there. I slowly walked over to it, having myself face a giant portrait above the fireplace. It was a family of four. The father looked exactly like the man I saw earlier, and to his left looked to be his son. To his right looked to be his daughter and his wife. Looking closely at the picture, the man was the only one not smiling. What was wrong with this guy? This looks like such a normal family, but now all of a sudden he's on a killing spree? I crouched down to the fireplace, and reached for the crank. Hoping it would still work, I pulled it down. Just then, I heard a noise to my right. Low and behold, the little secret door under the wall opened up.

As I slowly crawled my way through, hearing more metal rustling and the wind blowing, I found myself inside a room that was completely boarded up with wood. There was a box to my left, and in front of me was the hole with a ladder going down it. No matter how much I wanted too, I had to go deeper into the house. I walked slowly toward the ladder, feeling like this wooden room could collapse at any minute. More cockroaches scurried past my feet. I slowly made my way onto the ladder. The ladder alone felt very fragile. I slowly started climbing down, and before I knew it, the middle bar of the ladder broke off. I was left dangling, holding on with my left hand, trying to catch my breath. I threw my right arm back onto the bar, and suddenly that bar broke off. I grunted and screamed as I fell about what felt like five feet down the hole. I landed on my back, gasping for air. There was no going back up there anytime soon.

"Damn it!" I groaned, slowly standing myself up from the ground. The basement looked exactly like it did in the VHS tape. It was wet, slimy, and smelled even worse than the kitchen did. In front of me was the broken pipe that was pierced through Andre's chin. I tried my hardest not to think about it. That was one of the most fucked up things I've ever seen in my life. I slowly walked toward the next room, looking away from the pipe. I then found myself in a pathway lit by only one light dangling from the ceiling. In front of me was a trail of water going what looked like under the stairs of the house above. I walked toward the water, and the foul stench got worse. The only way to continue was to fucking swim in this shit. I wanted to vomit desperately. I closed my eyes, took a deep breath, and slowly waded myself into the water. It was lukewarm, but smelled like a sewer. As I waded, the pathway got darker and deeper. I couldn't really see what was in front of me. Thank goodness my flashlight was still working. I raised my arms to the wood above me, and pulled myself through to the other side. To my right, I found that the pathway looked to end ahead. I continued to wade through the water. No lights were attached to the walls. Just then, the water started to bubble. I suddenly stopped in my path. Please don't let there be anything in here with me. I took another breath, and continued on. The wood ahead started to come down, so I had to pull myself across yet again. I went to reach and pull, but as I pulled myself through, something hit my feet. What came out of the water was putrid. A body came afloat, and I screamed and fell back into the water. I quickly catched my breath and looked at the corpse. It was Andre's body, but it was all decomposed and rotted. His eyeballs were gone, along with the lower half of his jaw. Maggots were crawling everywhere, and Andre's teeth could be seen through the tendons.  I quickly swam my way past the body, and walked myself out of the water. I was scarred to the core. If I were to find Mia, she better have some explaining to do.

As I walked out of the water, I noticed a whole bunch of papers nailed to the wooden planks. They were headshots of different people with their information written around them. Did the same thing that happened to Mia happen to these people? In front of me was another door. I opened it slowly and walked into the next room. This room felt more like a jail cell. There were barred doors to my right and big wooden planks with drawings on them. As I walked through, I noticed a toilet. Inside the bowl were syringes. This was getting even sicker. I then continued onto the path, and couldn't believe my eyes with what I saw next. There was a cell door, and inside was lit from the ceiling, showing a bed with feet laying on it?
