Ethan's Point of View

"Mia?" I asked. No answer was given. I stood fixed at the empty couch in front of me. I thought I had just saved Mia, but I guess I was wrong. That bastard must've came in and snatched her up. I was furious inside, but I wasn't leaving this house without Mia. At this point, I didn't care if I died as long as I knew I tried to do what was right and save the woman I love. I looked at the now broken down door on my left and walked toward it. The dust from the wood was still scattering everywhere. As I walked towards it, I noticed there was a photo on a cart. I picked it up and saw that it was a photo of an old woman in a wheelchair. Maybe she was the grandmother of the family. I turned the picture over, and written in black ink was "E-001." What the hell does that mean? Maybe this woman was a victim too? The fury inside me grew even more. I put the picture down and walked through the doorway. Mia was completely gone super quickly. The room was the same as all the other rooms before; wet and moldy bricks, water dripping from the ceiling. I noticed to my left that there was a little stairwell. I walked up the steps and found myself staring at a longer staircase to my right. It was so dark, I couldn't see where it led to. Gritting my teeth, I slowly started to walk up the stairs. The stairs were very rickety, I felt like I was climbing down that latter again. The stairwell was so enclosed as well. Walls of wood were wrapped around me, I started feeling a little claustrophobic. As I neared the top of the staircase, I noticed a white door in front of me. This is the only way I could think this guy took Mia. As I inched closer, the door started opening by itself, slowly. I hated this place so much.

I pushed myself through the door and found myself in another hallway. The weather outside suddenly changed from sunny to dark. Raindrops were splattering against the windows. Lightning struck and thunder was roaring. I started walking down the hallway and noticed there was a telephone on my left. Who knows if it even worked anymore. As I continued on, I noticed a little table with a lamp lit on top. I started to think to myself, was I back up at the house I started at? I noticed the drawer was slightly opened and decided to pull it out fully. Inside was a big piece of paper with a blueprint of what seemed like a map of the house. I knew this would come in handy, so I took the map and put it inside my backpack. Continuing down the hall, I found two doors facing one another. One boarded up with wood, and the other opened. I looked inside the opened door and found myself in a bathroom. Honestly, this was probably the most clean room I've seen so far, but it still looked and smelled like shit. Getting sidetracked, I had to try and find more clues to where Mia was, and hopefully learn more about this wretched place. I went over to the table next to the sink and pulled open the drawer. Inside was a green bottle with the label "First Aid Med." I have no idea what this was doing here, but it couldn't hurt to take it along. On the other side of the sink was another one of these bottles, so I grabbed that one as well. The window was strung with chicken wire and boarded up with wood. The bathtub was dirty, moldy, and probably didn't even work anymore. Just then I heard multiple knocks outside the bathroom. I quickly turned around. It sounded like someone was banging on a door. I slowly ventured back out into the hallway.

The knocking got louder and louder, and sounded like it was coming from the door I came out of. I took a deep breath and slowly walked down the hall. When I reached the door, the knocking stopped, and I could've sworn I heard something fall and roll on the ground. Maybe a jar or something. Bracing myself, I pushed the door open and began to walk down the stairs, slowly. Just then, I started hearing what sounded like hissing. A long and strenuous hissing sound that grew louder and grosser as I tiptoed down the steps. I then saw something that made my heart stop. Someone was crawling up the stairs. It was Mia. Her head was down, and she looked like she was on the verge of death trying to get up the stairs. I started to reach out to her, but all of a sudden the lights went out. I felt myself being grabbed by my shirt, and I was then looking Mia dead in the face. However, this didn't look like the Mia I knew. Mia was staring at me, her eyes completely black. Her skin was green and dirty, and her teeth were rotted to the bone. She looked at me, gave a long groan, and picked me up. She suddenly got so strong, I had no idea how the hell this was happening. She threw me up the stairs and through the door. I hit the window and fell to the ground, groaning in pain. As I struggled to stand myself up, I was then faced by Mia once again. She was staring at me with the cold, dark eyes. She then went to grab my shirt again and suddenly pulled out a knife. What the fuck was happening??? I tried to push her away as best as I could, but she won the battle and threw me to the ground. I had nothing to defend myself. I was laid down on the ground with no weapon in hand. Mia then raised her arm with the knife and thrusted down at me. I raised my arms up, blocking her attacking with my wrist. I was struggling so bad, and this is definitely not Mia who I was trying to escape. She then raised her arm again and slashed my wrist. I grabbed her hand and heaved it away from me, hoping to try and get out of her grasp. To no avail, Mia threw my arm down to the ground, raised her knife, and stabbed right through my hand. The pain was unbearable, like fire was coursing through my veins. I tried so hard not to scream, but my god that hurt so much. I grabbed Mia's arm, trying to get her to pull the knife out. I succeeded and pushed her down the hall. I went to grasp my had, a giant bloody slit right through the middle of it. I slowly got back up to my feet, but Mia was already ready to strike back.
