All she could hear was muffled cries and screams, as she finally came back to consciousness.
Her eyes felt sewn shut, but she carefully opened them to find her family all banging on the door.
It seemed Jeok-bong had woken up as well and was watching her for any sign of movement.
"Ms. Chu! She woke up." Jeok-bong yelled.
Ms. Chu ran to her side and checked her for any other injuries.
"Hana, are you alright? Any pain?" She questioned.
"No, I'm fine. What's happening?" Hana asked.
Jeok-bong and Ms. Chu looked at her cautiously, as if scared to tell her.
She looked up to see Chairman Choi and Motak pounding on the door, almost trying to take it off its hinges.
That's when she realized.
Before she lost consciousness, So Mun was fighting the evil spirits by himself.
Now, he was the only one not here and the door was locked.
The idiot was fighting the evil spirits all by himself.
That's when she shot up from the ground, but she was still unstable and felt herself falling once again.
Jeok-bong and Ms. Chu held her up, but she shrugged them off as she tried to reach the door.
Jeok-bong tried to stop her by holding her shoulders in place, Hana tried to use her remaining strength to move him out of the way.
"Move, Jeok-bong. We can't leave him to fight them by himself. He'll get hurt." She exclaimed, voice breaking.
"I can't do that, Hana. You're barely strong enough to hold yourself up, you can't help So Mun right now. Let the others help." Jeok-bong explained, his voice gravely in emotion.
She wouldn't stop shuffling away from Jeok-bong.
"Let me at least talk to him through the door." She pleaded.
He looked at Ms. Chu who nodded. Maybe Hana could convince So Mun to open the door and let them help.
As Hana stumbled to the door, Motak and Chairman Choi moved slightly to give her room.
"So Mun? Are you alright?" She yelled.
That's when she got a response.
"Noona, don't you dare come in here. I'm not opening the door." So Mun exclaimed, his voice cracking as if he was in pain.
"You idiot! Open the door right now. Let us help you! We can't let you get hurt. I can't watch you fight by yourself. I can't w-watch you die!" She replied angrily but broken.
"I'm sorry, Noona." So Mun said softly.
That's when Hana felt her body fail her as she fell to the ground in front of the door in tears.
~~~~~~
So Mun's heart was breaking.
He hadn't heard Hana sound so defeated and tired in his life, but he couldn't open the door.
The evil spirits were after him and his power, so as long as they were on the other side of that door, they were safe.
He had held his own against the two evil spirits but he was slowly losing control of his powers.
He was using almost half his strength just to keep the door closed, making him weaker than usual.
His body was bruised and beaten, but he was determined to keep fighting.
