He was going to die.
Not because of the blinding pain in his side, but because of Hana.
When she finds out that he got hurt, despite her warnings to be careful, he will surely be murdered.
He tried to ignore his eventual demise and focus on staying awake until they made it back to the warehouse.
The evil spirit they were fighting was a level three, but he was also incredibly smart.
Motak and So Mun were following closely behind Jeok-bong as he tried to locate where the evil spirit was.
So Mun had already summoned the territory and suddenly felt a presence in the territory in the left alley. At the same moment, Jeok-bong found a smell that led them to the right alley.
They had decided that Motak would go with Jeok-bong to follow the smell, while Mun would follow the territory.
With their earbuds in and a final nod, they went their separate ways.
As he walked into the alley, he was reminded of the time he went after Ji Cheong-Sin years ago.
Back then he was just the new Counter. Now he was part of a family.
As he walked past some buildings, he saw a tabby cat hiding behind a few trash cans.
He bent down to pet it softly when suddenly he heard a loud sound.
Mun quickly got back up and felt a force send him flying backward into the alley wall.
He groaned before he looked to see the evil spirit grinning at him.
"That hurt, you know." Mun exclaimed as he clutched his shoulder.
That's all it took for the evil spirit to attack him.
They exchanged hits back and forth, while Mun let Motak and Jeok-bong know where he was.
Once they had arrived, they all started attacking the spirit from different sides. Suddenly, the spirit sent them all flying back with telekinesis.
So Mun was able to attempt to stop the attack, but Motak and Jeok-bong both hit the alley wall hard.
They were both bleeding from their heads and So Mun quickly went to check on them both.
As he checked Jeok-bong's wound, Jeok-bong yelled at him with a warning.
Before he could move completely, the evil spirit had sent a knife flying at his chest.
He tried to sidestep the knife, but it still made its mark on his side.
He hissed in pain before sending a trash can flying directly at the evil spirit's head.
That finally caused the spirit to be completely knocked out.
That's when he went to summon the spirit, while his body screamed at him not to move.
Motak and Jeok-bong quickly got him into the car as they raced back to the warehouse.
He had pulled out the knife already and was wrapping his hoodie over his wound to stop the blood.
"So Mun, are you doing alright?" Jeok-bong asked, concerned as he turned back to check on him.
"I'm fine, Hyung. Could you please not tell Noona about this?" So Mun pleaded.
Motak with a fierce concentration on his face, let out a laugh at that.
"I bet you she somehow already knows." Motak said as he continued to swerve past the cars.
