Shub's POV :

India had made it through all the matches in the WC so far, some were nerve wrecking but all brought joy as they had won. Today was an immensely important match for India. India vs New Zealand was a match awaited by everyone in the country, this semi-finals had to be won. Taking revenge for the 2019 match was on the minds of every Indian and going into the finals was anticipated.

The match had ended, India won by 70 runs, patriotic songs playing in the stadium, the Indian team group-hugging to celebrate, it was magical.

But the only magic which ever had a effect on me was that gleaming smile of Ishan's, I couldn't help but ruffle his fluffy hair. He turned to me, his eyes sparkling with a warmth that melted away any lingering doubts or worries. In that moment, with the taste of victory still lingering in the air, The win wasn't just on the scoreboard; it was in the memories we had created, the challenges we had overcome, and the friendships that had deepened.the stadium lights casting an angelic hue on the field, I ruffled Ishan's hair once more, a playful gesture that conveyed more than words ever could. It was a silent acknowledgment of the shared journey, I couldn't help but believe that the taste of this victory would linger in our hearts long after the cheers of the crowd had faded away.

All the other players had taken a shower and had left for the hotel except for me and Ishan. Ishan was waiting for me to get out of the shower so we could leave. "Shubman yaar hurry up, what ar-" I opened the door which took him by surprise. "Sorry sweetie, I was just thinking back on the new record that Virat bhai made" I said drying my hair with a towel. " ofcourse you were- lets quickly go back to our room and get dressed for the after party, im so excited " Ishan said jumping around the room like a baby, which made the corners of my lips raise up unknowingly. " ofcourse baby lets go"

Entering the party was a hassle, paparazzis and flashing lights everywhere, we were used to this by now but it still felt suffocating. I held Ishan's hand and led him through the crowd to the entrance. "Thanks ^-^" Ishan said, booped my nose and ran away to Rohit bhai. I felt my cheeks grow hotter and felt my heart pounding in my ears. "Why is my heart beating so fast?" I shrugged it off blaming it on the hustle we went through to get inside.

The party had only the members and the coaches, all of them had gone overboard with the drinks while celebrating. Shami bhai , Rohit bhai and Virat bhai drank the most. Why wouldn't they? They all had made new records today. They were busy singing (more like screaming lol) and dancing to the songs that the DJ played. Everyone was beyond immersed in the joy. I was sitting at the bar, not that I didn't wanna dance but the bar had a better view of the dance floor, the joy I felt when I looked at the members happy was the best way to celebrate for me.

"Another booze for me please" I told the waitress before turning back to the dance floor, only to realise Ishan wasn't there anymore. Where did he go? Is he okay? He must've drank too much and is probably in the restroom right now- oh no. I was anxiously looking around the room when I heard- "Looking for me darling?" Phew, I let out a sigh of relief. "you're so cute when you're tense," Ishan said in his cute, slightly drunk voice. "Oh shut up " I said taking a sip of my drink . "Hi, excuse me. Aren't you Ishan Kishan? I am a huge fan of yours",she smiled at him, flirtatious . "Oh, yeah. Thank you so much!"

"Um- can i have an autograph" "sure", Ishan smiled , genuinely.Something was off about her gaze, it pissed me off.She slightly smirked, "you know, i wanna get it tattooed" Ishan huffed , taking the hint "Why? Want me to mark you?" , "All yours" , sliding a fancy drink towards ishan with a tissue on which she had hastily jotted down a note, "on me" she concluded with a wink.

Leaving a trail of intrigue, I couldn't help but shoot Ishan a playful glare. "Looks like you've got an admirer," I teased, though a tinge of possessiveness colored my words.

Ishan, ever the charmer, chuckled, "Seems like it. Maybe I should start offering autographs with every drink." His playful response did little to quell the butterflies in my stomach, wondering just how many notes adorned with flirtatious winks he'd collected over the course of his career.A forced smile played on my lips as I teased back, "Careful, Ishan. You might start a trend."
