Junhui closed the files, resting his hands on them. He tried his best to look energised, and not the lethargic self he was definitely feeling at that point. "Back so soon?" He gestured toward the examining table. Minghao walked over and placed Lila on the table, who was undoubtedly the most enthusiastic one there.

Minghao scratched the back of his neck. "Yeah um... I accidentally stepped on her paw when she was trying to involuntarily rope me into a hide-and-seek game. I think it's pretty serious this time."

The doctor wore his stethoscope and pressed it against Lila's tiny body. The way Lila felt pretty much at ease didn't look like there'd be much cause for concern. He shifted the equipment around, listening for her heartbeat and breathing. Then, he slowly felt around her paw. No signs of fractures or dislocations. However, he did feel Lila flinching back ever so slightly.

"I'm going to be honest, Lila looks fine to me. I would like to get X-rays again just to make sure, if that's okay with you...?" Junhui trailed off. He looked over at a worried Minghao, spacing out and chewing his fingerail. Probably a force of habit.

The younger male immediately placed his hand down when he caught the other staring. "Of course," Minghao had a pressed smile to his face. He could just feel a hole burning through his wallet, or his card more specifically, but he would rather die first than let Lila suffer. Junhui handed Lila over to Lucy carefully, who was once again conducting the scans.

The room plunged into sudden silence. As much as it was awkward, Minghao felt bad. The doctor was obviously tired from a busy week, and here he was blocking Junhui from enjoying his weekend. He felt like he had to apologise.

"I'm sorry, for coming in here so late again." He said as sincerely as he could. Junhui glanced up, stopping whatever he was scribbling into Lila's file.

A warm smile spread across his face. "No worries. Late nights are practically everyday when I was at uni."

Minghao felt instantly more relieved. The both of them looked towards the office door when Lucy knocked on it softly, bringing in Lila. The younger male's eyes hovered between Junhui and Lucy.

All of a sudden, Junhui let out a small laugh from behind the screen. Minghao was confused. "Your little Lila here is fine. There's nothing wrong with her bones at all." Junhui announced with a little flourish. He showed the other Lila's scans, which was basically identical to the ones two days ago. Minghao exhaled deeply. There it was, $200 flying itself right out of his pocket.

Junhui took out a roll of something cotton and a bottle of ointment. "Although she does have a little bruising here, so I'm going to put some ointment and wrap it up so she doesn't lick it all off." The doctor got to work, one hand giving Lila something to be interested in (licking), while the other expertly applied the ointment. Minghao helped out by preventing Lila from licking the ointment while Junhui swiftly wrapped and cut the gauze.

"All done!" Junhui smiled. He gave Lila a few more head scratches before placing her on the floor to see if she could walk, and she did just that. Thanking Junhui profusely, Minghao walked out to the counter to pay for the visit.

Lucy was already there waiting. She said, "Here's your ointment and extra gauze. Apply again if her bruise hasn't healed in 2 days. It'll be $200 again sir."

Minghao cocked his head. "$200? What about these?" As soon as the words left his mouth, he immediately regretted ever speaking. Damn it if he had to pay even more. Much to his astonishment, Lucy just shrugged. "Doctor Wen said not to charge you for them." Minghao's mouth formed an O shape as he swiped his card. He looked down at Lila. She was barking her head off once again.

Huh.
