Minghao rolled over from his stomach to his back, shifting his body around such that he was now laying sideways on his bed, his face partially obscured by the multiple pillows. He checked the bedside clock. 11.27pm, on a Thursday night. He had work tomorrow, a meeting even at 10, which meant he had to wake up at 7, but there he was on a Facetime call with Junhui, uttering whatever gibberish came from his half-asleep mind. "And her groomer started charging me so much more, so I had to trim her myself, but it didn't quite come out like the Pinterest picture..." He explained, venting about Lila's unreasonable groomer. Over the phone, Junhui's video was propped up against the bedframe which showed a much more decent angle.

"Oh dear, what did you do to her?" Junhui asked in a concerned tone when Minghao sent him a picture of Lila post-groom. He rolled his eyes, knowing full well the other was just teasing. It didn't look that  bad, semi-professional at best, but considerably worse than her usual groomer's cut.

As 5 more minutes of meaningless conversation went by, Minghao could feel himself growing more and more tired by the second. He let out an exaggerated yawn, rubbing his eyes so they wouldn't shut by themselves. "You should sleep soon." He felt his heart skip a beat at the older's words. It was more so the low, husky voice with which he had said them with.

Minghao sighed deeply. He tilted his phone closer to his face, wincing at the brightness of the screen in contrast to the rest of the dark room. "Goodnight Jun." He whispered.

"Sweet dreams darling."

Did he just- The younger jolted up into a sitting position, but the other had already hung up the phone. He flopped back down onto his bed, admonishing himself but also feeling his heart race. The things Junhui did to his heart were simply ridiculous.

"How's this? Too much?" Minghao asked. He pulled a full-white varsity jacket off from its hanger and held it towards his upper body, along with the pair of baggy ripped jeans he wanted to pair it with.

"Hm... looks good." Mingyu hummed on the other side of the Facetime call. Minghao picked up his phone, rolling his eyes at the other.

"You're not even looking!" He scolded. Having sorted through nearly his entire closet, he still managed to land on the world's plainest fit. Giving up right about then felt like a great idea. He threw the outfit on his bed and sat down heavily.

Mingyu sighed, finally placing down whatever he was doing and looking into the camera. "It's a movie Hao. The entire place will be dark anyway, who cares what you wear?" The Chinese male let out a loud groan. Fashion didn't mean just nice-looking, trendy clothes to him. The things he wore made him feel more confident, like a bigger and better version of himself that he wanted to show to the rest of the world.

But as much as he'd loved to spend another few hours picking his outfit, a quick glance at the bedside clock made him realise he was about to be very late if he didn't leave immediately. "Sorry Gyu, I have to go!" He panicked, reaching over to grab his phone and hang up. Afterward, he hurriedly called an Uber before throwing his clothes on. He took one longing look back at the mess of clothes left lying pitifully on the bed and floor. They'd just have to sort themselves out later.

Time skip

The cool air from the air conditioning in the mall hit his skin the moment he had stepped foot in, making him eternally grateful he had chosen to wear an outer layer. Otherwise, he'd freeze to death not even halfway through the movie. Checking his messages, his eyes darted around the shops in search of the older. With his head down and unwary, he slowly made his way deeper into the mall, since Junhui had said he was waiting in front of a store on the second level.
