Alaric Saltzman did end up showing up with the brothers that morning. He scratched his head confused about what's going on. 

"Okay run by this again who's Zoey?"

"She's my ex wife/ girlfriend complicated but we're working on mending our relationship," Damon says causing Stefan to roll his eyes.

"And she's been taken by a vampire?"

"Correct, we need your help to see who took her maybe you can find some tracks that I missed, who knows what the vampire is doing to her,"

"Is this still the same Damon Salvatore? The ruthless badass one?" Rick asked looking to Stefan.

"He's changed since Zoey is in his life again," he shrugs a light smile on his face.

"Alright, well let me see..... If you look closer to the ground I see some dirt and leaves scuffled leads to the woods,"

"Wait you got all that from some leaves and dirt?"

"Yup, perks of being a vampire hunter, I can follow it's trail she might not be far," he says before entering the woods.

The brothers glanced at each other before following the hunter.

Zoey Robinson was bored out of her mind. She has been staring at the walls for what seemed like forever. There was no noise upstairs so doesn't even know if the man is up there or not, she's hungry and just wants to see Damon again.

She finally sighed and got up, maybe the man was lying about the sunlight upstairs. So she went to vamp speed and to open the door but it was locked. She growls as she used her strength to try and open the door but it was no use, not even vampire strength can help her out.

"ARE YOU STUPID?" The voice of the man yelled from the other side of the door.

"LET ME OUT! IM HUNGRY!"

"Elijah will be here soon there was a delay,"

"But I don't even want Elijah! I just want Damon! Please let me out,"

"If I open this door you will die, sunlight will kill you instantly nothing is covered upstairs it's all windows,"

Just then door knocking could be heard as the vampire smirks.

"Looks like that's your que, let me go let him in," he says as she heard footsteps walking away.

When the Vampire went to open the door Elijah wasn't on the other side of the door. It was someone else he did not recognize.

"Jesus, finally I'm sorry let me introduce myself I'm Matthew and my car broke down miles back, I'm new to town and your house was the first thing I saw.... May I come in and use a bathroom?"

"You came all this way just to use a bathroom?"

"Yeah bro and maybe a phone too, my wife must be worried sick,"

"Well.... Sure you can be let in," he says moving to the side.

However as the vampire was closing the door Alaric had a stake in his hand as he quickly turns around and jabs it into his back. The unknown vampire screams before turning gray as he dropped to the floor.

Once on the floor Damon and Stefan raced inside.

"ZO!" Damon yelled as Zoey's eyes widened.

"DAMON DOWN HERE!" She says pounding on the basement door.

A couple of locks could be heard unlocking as he opened up the door, but horror quickly overcomes him as she started screaming when sunlight reached the basement door. He quickly shuts the door horrified looks on his face.

"ZO YOU OKAY?!" Damon asks.

"The sun! It burns! He has my ring Damon," she cried as her wounds were healing.

Stefan got to work as he digged in the man's pockets until he found her ring inside his back pocket.

He tosses it over to Damon.

"Okay..... I'll slowly open the door but go down the basement stairs away from the light!"

"Alright Damon!" She calls back vamp speeding down the stairs and away from the light. "ALRIGHT IM AWAY FROM THE DOOR!"

Damon had yanked the door open as he raced downstairs and embraced Zoey into a hug.

"I'm sorry.... I'm so sorry for just opening the door like that. Jesus Christ are you okay?" He asked looking into her eyes.

She nodded her head before he brought her into his hold again.

"You scared the shit out of me, don't leave me like that again,"

"I promise I won't Damon this was just as unexpected as it was for me,"

"DAMON!" Stefan called from upstairs before Damon heard his neck being snapped.

Damon heard Alaric scream as a big crash was heard and what sounded like glass breaking.

Damon pushed Zoey behind him as a man in a suite was seen from on top of the stairs. The man vamp speed down the stairs in front of Damon in a second.

"Your in the way," he says causing Zoey to gasp as he twisted Damon's head causing him to fall to the ground unconscious.

"Hello Zoey, it's been quite sometime since we saw each other," he says causing Zoey to gulp out of fear.

"E-Elijah," she stutters eyes wide as she backed away from him.
