Birmingham, England 1919
(Third person)The boys were finally home so the family spent the night getting drunk out of their minds. "Here Lilah try this, best you'll get." Arthur told his sister, offering her a shot of rum, which she downed in seconds. "Fuckk that's good I'll have another one ta." She slurred, sliding the empty glass back to him.
Meanwhile, Tommy stood at the bar speaking with Freddie Thorne. "I don't bet- but the past few days I've been speculating," Freddie told the blinder.
"About what?" Thomas asked, lighting a cigarette."One of my Union comrades has a sister who works in the telegraph office at the BSA factory," Freddie revealed. "She says over the past week they've had messages coming up from London to the brass, from Winston Churchill himself," Freddie approached Thomas closer. "something about a robbery."
"A robbery of national significance it said." He continued, "she found a list of names on the left telegraph machine. And- on that list was your name and my name together," Freddie chuckled.
"What kind of list would have the name of a communist and bookmaker side by side?" He asked."Perhaps it's a list of men who give false hope to the poor," Tommy reasoned. "The only difference between you and me Freddie, is that sometimes my horses stand a chance of winning."

"I'm gonna head home, I think I'll pass out if I drink anymore." Lilah told her aunt, "do you want me to take you home love?" She asked, helping her niece stay balanced. "No I'll be okay, see you tomorrow Polly." Lilah said as she the left the pub.
"Whoever's there can fuck off- I'm a fuckin' Shelby!" The drunk girl called out, her voice echoing off the inside walls of the bridge. No response. She kept walking, quickening her pace this time. Screaming as a hand cupped her mouth-
everything started going black.~
(Lilah's POV)"It's nice to see that you are awake Miss Shelby."
My head was throbbing, my hands were tied behind my back. An old man stood infront of me watching, amused.
"You're the younger Shelby sister, the baby deer of the herd. Is that right?" He questioned, his Irish accent thick. "What do you want from me?" I groaned in pain.
"Let me introduce myself, I am inspector chief Campbell. I believe that you and your family were involved in a robbery, you stole from me." Campbell said grabbing my face.
"What fucking robbery?" I spat at him. "Miss Shelby I don't want to mess up your pretty face more than I already have, but if you continue to lie to me then I will have to do so."
"I'm not lying to you. I know nothing about a robbery!"
"OW WHAT THE FUCK?!" I screamed at the officer who punched me in the face.
The torture lasted at least an hour, they wanted answers. Answers that I didn't have- and I couldn't do anything about it.

(Third person)"Where's Lilah?" Tommy asked abruptly in the middle of the Blinders meeting. "She left on her own last night, I tried offering to take her home but she refused." Polly said. "And nobody's seen her since?" Thomas asked, getting slightly agitated as everyone shook their heads.
"Tommy Lilah's outside come quick!" Finn burst into the room, before quickly exiting again.
~
"Will she be alright?" John asked, nearly crying at the state of his little sister laying on the sofa.
"Shut up John." Thomas silenced his brother.
Ada and Polly lifted up Lilahs shirt, revealing the severe bruises along her stomach. "Jesus Christ," Arthur muttered pacing around the living room."Who did it?" Tommy asked the barely conscious girl.
"A copper called Inspector Chief Campbell, He wanted information on some fucking robbery." She breathed as Polly gave Thomas a disgusted look. When Lilah was finally Bandaged up, Tommy took her to her room. "I'm sorry." he whispered, kissing her head gently. "It wasn't your fault- don't be sorry." The weak girl assured him.
"𝐁𝐮𝐭 𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐬," Thomas thought to himself.
