1 - New job?

"The usual, Tenma?" asked the person at the counter. 

"Mhm." Tsukasa turned around, and saw a woman rushing a child, running. The woman had short black hair, and the child had orange hair, ginger. 

She's kidnapping him?!  Tsukasa rushed from the line and ran after the woman with the child.

He chased her through the shopping mall. By the time Tsukasa reached the woman, he beat her up in front of a crowd. Slamming her face into the fountain, the child screamed out, "ENA!!!"

"BKYRUHDJ--" muffled the woman, probably Ena. 

Timeskip.

"Tenma, beating up someone's caretaker in front of their child?!" asked the man.

"It was a mistake, sir."

The man sighed. "You'll never find a job at this point."

The man was sitting at a desk, with Tsukasa sitting on the opposite side. He had a small, metal nameplate on his desk, with the words "Kamishiro - Career Counselor" imprinted on them.

"W-Well, I need a job!" Tsukasa protested. "I need to take care of Saki!"

"Well, there is one job that you may consider. It's pretty bad, though." Kamishiro said.

"Please, Kamishiro! I'll take any job at this point." Tsukasa pleaded.

"Welll, there is this job, where you work as a security guard. There's this run-down theme park near here called Phoenix Wonderland." he said.

"Mhm, continue,"

"The job is pretty bad, but don't worry the pay is worse! You just have one job, keep the place tidy, and oh yeah-- Make sure nobody breaks in."

"That's two jobs." said Tsukasa.

Kamishiro sighed. "That's not the point. Do you want the job or not?"

"I'll consider."

Timeskip

"Saki, it's dinnertime!" Tsukasa shouted across the hall.

"I'm drawing." she said. 

"Please, Saki."

"I'm drawing my friends." she replied. "Later."

"Saki, the dinner will get cold."

"I'm with my friends." she said, not coming out of her room.

Tsukasa had always wondered what Saki was always doing in her room, drawing. Whenever she said she was with her friends, it was probably all the drawings she made, her imaginary friends, he supposed. 

Saki was very introverted at school, and usually played by herself, drawing pictures during recess. It was better her being seen as "The weird kid" or rather, she didn't get bullied.

"You know what? At least I'm real." Tsukasa left the room. After he ate, he left a plate outside Saki's room's door.

Tsukasa went to his room. He took a look at the business card to contact Kamishiro. 

"..." He felt like sleeping.

Tsukasa laid on his bed and gazed at his "Visit Miyamasuzaka" poster. Taking his sleeping pills, he took his earphones and played nature sounds on it. He fell asleep.

It was all very familiar, that day. The Tenmas(without Saki) were having a picnic in Miyamazusaka.

"I'll be back," said Mrs. Tenma. "Tsukasa, watch Toya, okay?"

"M-hm!" Tsukasa said with a nod. "I will!"

Mrs Tenma walked away, but when Tsukasa turned his head, Toya was not there. He then again heard the all-too-familiar sound of a car engine.

He ran.

"TOYAAA!!"

Tsukasa sprinted towards the car. Toya was inside the car. He couldn't quite see the person driving the car, but he saw Toya at the back seat, staring at Tsukasa. The car was speeding up, and Tsukasa ran faster.

"WAIT, TOYA!! TOYAAAAAA!"

Tsukasa woke up with a cold sweat.

"..." It was just a dream. He glanced at the "Visit Miyamasuzaka" poster and breathed slowly. It was just a dream.

Slowly, he got himself out of bed, and went into Saki's room. She was fast asleep.

"Get up, Saki." he said.

"...5 more minutes..." she mumbled.

A few moments later, Tsukasa went into his room. He spotted Kamishiro's business card there.

"Oh right, I forgot about this." he said to himself.

He dialed the number. 

"Hi, this is Tenma. I was calling to see if that job you offered was still available."
