when people tell you hurry up and get your license or a job or go to school or whatever they really want you to do it for them because think about it, they really don't want you to do what they're saying cuz then you're free.
you get a car ? they know u won't come back, you get a job ? now you've got money to do whatever you want including leave
but they want you to stay and do all the things they said for them. do they drive ? cuz if not they'll be in your passenger seat every time
they strip these things of meaning by being hypocritical but act as if they have all the intent of helping you
if they wanted to help, they would. this is grooming. they want you to be their personal slave and ur half way there when you accept
it's not about what I'm wanted to do which is also fucked up, it's about why I'm wanted to do it.
