Liverpool 1700,
Barnabas narrates
"It is said blood is thicker than water it is what defines us, binds us, curses us" Barnabas narrates
We zoom in on a child Barnabas who glances at the child maid Angelique who was staring at him as he boarded the ship
"For some blood means a life of wealth and privilege for others a life of servitude" Barnabas narrates
Angelique's mother scolded her "Angelique how many times have I told you not to stare at him remember your place" her mother said
The scene switches to the ship at sea...
"When I was but a boy, my father took us to the new world to expand the Collins family empire we brought English industry to the wilds of Maine" Barnabas narrates
"And built a fishing business, the likes of which America had never seen...that was also the day I met Rosetta Creel...but we'll get to that later" Barnabas narrates
A year later...
"A man should take pride in what he builds" Barnabas's father said "but remember Barnabas family is the only real wealth..." his father said looking down at him
"As our business grew the town of collinsport grew with it and we decided to put doe permanent roots" Barnabas narrates
The scene goes over the the Collins family house being built...
"We spent the next 15 years building our beloved home...Collinwood" Barnabas narrates as the finished house is seen
"But not everyone shared in our family's success" Barnabas narrates as the scene switches over to Barnabas making out with Angelique
"Let me hear you say I love you Angelique, I want you" Angelique said to Barnabas as he slowly pushed her away and whispered
"Angelique...I'm sorry my dear...but you would be hearing a lie..." Barnabas said as Angelique gives him a Nasty look going to make him regret
We come upon the scene of Barnabas's parents getting crushed by a statue...
"Convinced my parents death was no accident I became obsessed with dark magic and ancient curses" Barnabas narrates
Young Barnabas reads a paragraph from a book he found "lo above the gates of hell he found a single letter, a letter proclaiming Satan's true name" Barnabas said
"But even then in the depths of my grief not all was darkness for I had found my one true love" Barnabas narrates
The scene comes down with Barnabas and a red haired girl...Rosetta Creel
"Promise we'll be together forever" Rosetta said softly "God as my witness, Rosetta...I swear it" Barnabas said as she smiled and Barnabas leaned in to kiss her
"Of all the servant's I could have spurned..." Barnabas narrates as Angelique sees them kissing "of all the hearts I could have broken...I got the one with the secret...I got the witch" Barnabas narrates
The scene switches to Angelique chanting a curse...
"If he doth another choose to lend his heart an eye" Angelique had cut a strand of Rosetta's beautiful vibrant red hair
She brought the hair over to a cauldron "then magic shall the slighted use so all he loves will die" she dropped it in and the hairs disintegrate in the boiling cauldron
"Caught in Angelique's spell, my beloved Rosetta wandered helplessly through widows hill where many a despondent soul had leapt to their death..." Barnabas narrates
Young Barnabas goes through the woods calling her name "Rosetta" Barnabas said trying to stop her Rosetta stood at the edge of the cliff looking down
"Rosetta" Barnabas said as she turns around but tears stream down her face "help me" she said as she falls unable to stop
Barnabas looked down and saw Rosetta dead on the rocks he fell on his own wanting to die with her and he landed on the rocks
But to his surprise he was still alive and his form changed his hair turned black and he grew fangs his eyes had blood tears he looked up to see Angelique "what have you done" Barnabas said
"Angelique had cursed me to be a vampire so that my suffering would never end" Barnabas narrates
The next scene goes to an angry mob which Angelique brought and told him that he was a monster and they buried him in a coffin
Years later...
Ruby woke with a startled gasp having awoken from a dream all to surreal and she sighed deeply "what was that dream about" Ruby said holding her head
She looked at the calendar and saw the date she smiled "right...I forgot today is my birthday" she said and ran out of her room and went to pick up Lily

"So tell me again why we're going to Collinsport in Maine" Lily asked looking out the window "I just have a feeling that's all" Ruby said

[ Lily Anastasia Thorn- 14 years old ]
"Right because the last time you had that feeling my sister got mad at you for not saying anything" Lily said with a deadpan expression on her face
"Just trust me on this ok I'm also getting my job as a governess remember that" Ruby said glancing at lily as she was still focused on the road
"You mean a nanny right" Lily said looking at Ruby Making her chuckle "yes I mean a nanny way to oversimplify it" Ruby said
"The family of the Collins in Collinwood why does that seem a little vain" Lily said making ruby laugh a little "probably a family founded this town" Ruby said with a smile
"So this kid your watching is he also crazy like you are" Lily said "you better sleep with one eye open if you plan on getting any sleep tonight kid" Ruby threatened
This made Lily freeze in place realizing she may have said a little too much making her dread for her life
