Not Guilty[UNDERGOING CONTRUCTION]

Chapter 13

Cory's POV

I woke up. My head hurt, my arms were stinging. What happened to me?

"Do you remember?" Somebody asked, interrupting my thoughts. I looked up to see that it was Lance.

"Remember what?" I was confused.

"After you were chained up, Christopher got really mad. He gave you a black eye, bloody nose, and used his knife to cut your arms. You hit your head on the cement and passed out before you could fight back." He answered looking at me worried.

"That explains why I feel like I'm going to through up." I said and Lance scooted away.

I looked around the room to see Jess was chained where Sage normally was.

"Where is Sage?" I asked worried.

"Oh, she is in the other room with Skai. She probably will be back in a little bit. It's been 4 hours." Jess answered.

"Christopher has a routine, of people who get to see Skai. First you, then Jess, then Sage, Zac, and Lance. So you probably won't get to see her until tomorrow." Zac explained.

"I'm pretty sure Sage will tell her what happened to me. Zc you said you're next, right? Will you let Skai know that I'm awake and okay?" I asked him and he nodded his head.

Jess was right, Sage came back about 30 minutes later. I peeked around the corner and got a little glimpse of Skai. She was sitting on the floor. She seemed really tired and sad.

Christopher and Zac walked by out. Sage was looking at me.

"I told Skai what happened, she cried for and hour and a half. She is really worried about you Cory." She managed to tell me.

"I know. I asked Zac to tell her I'm awake and okay. She is worried about me? I had a dream that he was going to kill her. I'm worried about her." I answered looking her in the eyes.

We sat there in silence, until Zac walked in. Lance was pulled away and Zac turned to me.

"What happened?" I blurted out.

"I told her you were okay and awake and she bursted into tears. She was so happy. Then we just talked like we used to until Christopher came to switch me out." He answered.

"Well I'm next so Lance better hurry up." I answered and everybody laughed.

We talked about High school. Everybody had a sport they were doing, except for me. Skai was on the Varsity Football team and Varsity Girl's Basketball team. Sage was on the Varsity Lacrosse team. Jess was on the soccer team. Zac and Lance were still in middle school. And me? I haven't decided what to do? I decided to go to the same school as Skai and her friends. But nobody knows that.

"I have some good news." I said looking around to all of them.

"What is it?" Sage asked me.

"I decided to go to high school with you guys, but I want to make it a surprise for Skai so don't say anything to her." I barely got to answer before they all screamed in excitement.

"Are you going to do any clubs?" Zac asked me.

"I haven't decided. If I did it would be lacrosse or football." I told them.

"Nice." Jess answered.

A few hours later, Lance came back in. It was finally my turn to she Skai.

"Okay, we are done for the night, Cory you will get to see her first thing tomorrow morning. Get some sleep." He told all of us and we nodded our heads.
