Zac's POV

I walked into Skai's room to see her on the floor with her nose bleeding. Her chest is slowly raising and falling, telling me she is still alive.

I ran over to her getting on my knees. She has a purple bruise, the size of a baseball, below her right eye.

I slowly turn my head towards the door where Christopher has an evil grin on his face. He turns around and walks out before I get the chance to yell at him.

I carefully pick Skai up and gently lay her on the orange comforter. After about thirty minutes, I hear a painful groan. I look towards her as she slowly sits up.

"What time is it?" She asked me, taking a minute to notice her surroundings.

"5:17, almost time." I say to her, earning a small smile.

"God, I can't wait to get out of this place. And away from the fucking creeper." She says, earning a laugh from me.

"Me too. So, if you don't mind me asking, what the hell happened?" I looked at her and saw the tears beginning to roll down her cheeks.

"Let's not talk about it right now, okay?" She said, whiping her wet cheeks with her arm.

"Alright." I answered. We sat there in silence, until hearing a knock on the door.

I looked over at the clock and realized it was 5:30 already.

"You ready?" I asked Skai, grabbing her hand and dragging her to the door. The door opened revealing Cory, Sage, Lance, and Jess standing in wait.

Jess handed Skai and myself a few of the sharp screws she has been working on. Cory instantly wrapped his arms around Skai, pulling her out of the door.

I stepped out of the door frame and quietly shut the door. We carefully made our way down the hall, Cory and Skai holding hands while leading the way with Jess and Lance walking behind and Sage and I walking slowly in the back, looking behind our shoulders every once in awhile.

We were half way down the hall when a song started blaring inside one of the rooms. We all jumped in fear.

I instantly recognized the song. It was 'Monster' by Skillet. We continued to slowly walk down the hall. The music slowly got quieter as we got farther away.

We made it down the hall, and Cory decided to go up the stairs on the left. We all carefully tiptoed up the creaking stairs.

Once we made it up the stairs, a large, red, wooden door with a golden door knob was the only thing standing in the way of our freedom. Skai slowly turned the knob and pushed the door.

As she stepped out of the door frame, her eyes brightened. A smile took over her bruised face and I swear she was going to cry of happiness.

We all walked into the unknown room. It had a television, a couch, a fuse ball table, and a mini fridge that was full of beer.

We tiptoed around the house, looking for a door. After a few minutes, Jess spotted a door that looked like it lead outside. As everybody made there way towards the door, I realized that Sage wasn't beside me anymore. I told Cory to go outside and I was going to go look for her. He nodded in agreement.

As I walked back through the house, I noticed a foot sticking out from behind the fuse ball table. I slowly walked over and noticed Sage laying on the flood in a pool of her own blood. I checked for a pulse, but there was nothing.

I quickly ran through the house to where I remembered the door being. I quickly opened it and ran to my friends who were sitting under a tree, waiting.

"Where is Sage?" Jess asked me, looking worried and confused. I didn't know what to say. Jess was Sage's best friend and I didn't want to tell her that Sage was dead. How did it even happen? Was it Christopher? Did he kill her and is he going to kill us? Does he know we escaped?

"Zac, where is Sage!?" Cory asked, interrupting my thoughts.

"We gotta go, now! I will tell you later but for now, we need to run." I said and they all instantly stood up.

We began running down the gravel road. After a running until we couldn't breath, we all sat down.

"Okay, break time. And now will you tell us what happened Zac?" Jess asked me in between breaths.

"I walked back through the house and Sage was laying on the ground by the fuse ball table...... Dead." I slowly said. Everybody's face went blank.

Before anybody could say another word, BOOM! A loud noise came within ear distance and everyone jumped up and started running without looking back. We ran for hours, never stopping or giving up.

As we ran, everybody started slowing down when we came into a small town. A sign before we entered read "Huntington, Oregon. Population 434."

We walked through the town, getting weird looks from the citizens.

"Excuse me, sir. But can you tell me how to get to the Police Station?" Cory asked a man who looked about forty years old.

"Just walk down the road until you see the laundry mat, and take a right. Just walk straight and it should be right there." He answered.

"Thank you." Cory answered, earning a nod.

We followed the mans instructions. After about 20 minutes of walking, the words "Police Stations" came into eyesight and we all could feel the freedom in the air.

We walked into the police station and went straight to the front desk.

"I'm Cory, this is Skai, and our friends Jess, Lance, and Zac." Cory said to the lady at the front desk.

"I will be right back." She answered and ran off into an office. We stood there waiting.

I can't wait to go home.....
