At first, it was all fun and games; He'd piss you off, and you'd piss him off. It was a never ending competition of hatred that neither of you knew how had even started.

All you knew for certain was his gloomy demeanor really set you off, just as your overly confident personality really riled him up.

But when you suddenly stopped trying to get under his skin and kept to yourself, Levi felt the unfortunate need to find out why.

"And that concludes today's meeting. The next expedition is a go."

Erwin wrapped up the weekly meeting with a confident smile; one you couldn't help but grin along to.

"Excellent plan, Commander," you grinned, shooting a fleeting look over to the man on the other side of the table from you triumphantly.
Levi rolled his eyes. He was always in agreement with Erwin's plans; except for when you so full heartedly accepted them.

"Course you're in favor, L/N. Leading a team is all you ever wish to accomplish in this line of duty."

"Oh c'mon shorty; everyone deserves to be apart of something here." you retorted with a chuckle, leaning back in your chair and folding your arms across your chest.

"Oh for wall's sake," Erwin whispered to himself in exasperation, running a hand down his brow. It was always a competition between his top two soldiers, no matter what the task at hand might be.

"As I previously stated; Captain Y/N will be holding down the left flank, and Corporal Levi will lead the Special Operations Squad along the right flank. You'll both regroup at the head of the formation; there is no competition to be had here."

Scoffing under his breath, Levi turned his head away. "Of course not. There never is any competition to be had."

"Why you little-" You rose from your seat and leaned across the table towards Levi, but the warning look flashing through Erwin's eyes made you freeze and sigh in defeat. Standing back up straight, you made a show of smoothing out your outfit and hair, then smiled.

"Of course, sir. I won't let you down."
With that, you spun on your heel and exited the room alongside your fellow Captains.

Levi grumbled under his breath as he stood and pushed his chair back, shooting a glare to the back of your head. Seeing this, Erwin approached him and placed a hand on the shorter man's shoulder.

"At least try to get along? I'll speak with them as well, as this would be a two sided agreement, but please; try and cooperate with them for prep training and the expedition?"

Scoffing, Levi looked up and met his eye.
"I'll behave if they do. Besides, I don't instigate."

"Of course you don't," Erwin sighed, removing his hand.
"You two might just get along, if you tried to."

"Doubt it, eyebrows."

Shrugging his shoulders to adjust his jacket more comfortably, Levi marched out of the room, leaving Erwin to softly smirk to himself as he watched Levi approach the Captain out in the hall.

"Oi, L/N."

You halted in your tracks and turned your gaze over your shoulder, only to see Levi leaving the meeting room with a deep scowl. Biting back a grin, you turned to fully face him and raised a brow.
