You where lingering in the library the whole day. You had escaped your cell, again, and invited yourself to the dinning hall and then to the library. The rain pelted form outside, the sun blocked out, making the atmosphere cozy with the dim light. You claimed DIO's throne when he wasn't there, it was big enough for you to curl up in rather cozily. You where humming a light tune while reading.
" Dumb ass! I told you five seconds ago to take a left! The murderer is literally so obvious!" You exclaimed, angry flipping the page. You heard a slight chuckle from behind you. You turned around to be greeted with the tall vampire. " Oh shit whadup?"
" I was roaming the halls. Unable to sleep due to you yelling at the books. Is it another one of those stupid horror protagonists?" DIO asked as he looked down at you with his arms crossed. He was ignoring the fact you had somehow escaped your cell, and more focused on subtly anoyying you.
" Yep." You nodded and ignored him, getting a huff and a eye roll in response.
" Your in my chair."
" I'm aware of that." You replied while flipping the page. Soon you where in the other chair, DIO sitting in his.
He must have stopped time. Just to get me out of my chair, kinda petty. He could have just asked.
You observed the vampire out of the corner of your eye. He simply sat there thinking. You ignored him and went back to reading, you flipped the page and chuckled.
" Dumb fuck died. It was obvious, that other guy was not your brother! How stupid..." You say to yourself with a chuckle. You could feel DIO observing you subtly with a small smirk on his haunting face, but not subtly enough for you to not pick up on it. " Whatcha thinking?" You ask him, your eyes still on the book.
" Nothing of your concern." He responded, his voice grumbling with irritance. He crossed his legs and rested his head on his hands, now obviously examining you.
" Why are you here in the same room out of choice if you don't like me? I'm a silly little prisoner, nothing more then that."
" Because your train wreck self entertains me. Such a smart human yet so magnificently stupendous that it makes it a show."
" I'm dinner and a show." You say while doing one handed jazz hands. DIO snickered and rolled his eyes a bit at your joke.
" You're getting awfully pale you know." he commented after a few moments of silence.
" I mean, that kinda happens when you haven't been outside in weeks. You've kept me in a shitty cell and inside with no sunlight what so ever, so i'd think that would happen." You say with a nod and a sassy tone as you flipped the books page.
" My my, what an attitude." He says with a glare. " And have you been filing your nails specifically to be sharp?" You looked down at your nails, which had been grown out sense you got to the mansion, you had found a odd rock in your cell and used it too fool around and file your nails, making them pointed like DIO's.
" Thought they looked cool, and also would be useful for scraping out your eyes if you dared try and slurp up my blood." DIO looked unamused.
" Fuck you."
" Fuck you too." You say with a hand heart and then return to your book with a grin. You knew you could annoy DIO just as much as he could scare you and torture you. And so far your plan seemed to be working.
A book floated over to him, you assumed it was the World getting him a book so he didn't have to get up, nor have the only form of entertainment be your stupid antics. The sound of the rain hit the mansion, the room still cold and dim. You wondered how often it rained in Egypt, probably not a lot, but you had gotten caught just the right time for one of the rain showers apparently.
Time passed, seeming like nothing. You and the vampire just sat and read. Your chair's facing each others, occasionally looking up and studying what the other was doing in silence. Minutes turned to hours, and you got hungry.
" TD has prepared you some food, it will be ready in a few minutes." DIO said with a plain tone as he flipped the books page.
" Stop reading my mind, and also thanks I guess." You said as you closed your book and put it back on the shelf. You then headed out the tall door without another word, leaving DIO to sit and read alone, the way you figured he liked it most.

DIO sighed when the door closed. As much as he hated to admit it, and refused to admit it, Y/N was growing on him. The mans humor yet seriousness and maturity brought a slight spark into DIO's cold and cruel world. He was also not used to being given such an attitude and defiance before, so that amused him.
As much as he hated Y/N he couldn't help but feel slightly entertained and not as alone in his presence. It was something better then Vanilla's worshiping, or TD's plain followance, or whatever he had going on with Pucci (ye, im ignoring Pucci for most of this story lol). It was something less manipulative or goal driven, it was genuine.
It was a love hate situation. DIO hated Y/N with every ounce of his being, but at the same time he couldn't help but feel amused and siltly more alive in the mans foolish presence.
" Augh.." DIO grumbled as he put his book down and rubbed his eyes out of annoyance and slight frustration. " I hate people."
He got up out of his chair and made his way out of the library and into the hall. He made his way to Enya's room, ready to start training his stand again. The Crusaders where already in China, so he had to start working more on his plans. After waiting 100 years these plans where not going to fail. But for some reason he felt something was off about it all. But he shook it off.
