Chapter Five

Miles was beginning to question his sanity, asking Alex to his virtual boozer on Saturday. They had sat down to dinner on Friday night, and Alex had fretted about what he should wear, and kept asking Miles who else was going to be in the room with the other guys and if they could be trusted. Alex always turned the most basic thing into a potential disaster. Miles just tried to leave him to it. If Alex didn't have something to worry about, his day wasn't complete.

To stop him from working himself up into an unnecessary frenzy of anxiety, Miles sent him out to the local off-licence to buy some booze. While he was out, Miles messaged his mates, telling them the truth about Alex lodging with him, and explaining that no one was supposed to know where he was. The guys were all friends he'd made since moving to Bethnal Green, and they knew nothing of his relationship with Alex. Like the rest of the world, they knew Alex Turner was Miles' best mate, but not that they'd been lovers. They knew Miles was bisexual because they'd all met Giorgio, but as always, Miles had protected Alex's reputation by keeping quiet.

Alex came back with more alcohol than they needed – three bottles of vodka, a bottle of tequila, a crate of coke and two six packs of lager. He struggled to bring them into the kitchen, and plonked them on the worktop – almost knocking one of Miles' very expensive Le Crueset pans on the floor.

"The guys aren't actually coming here, Al," Miles laughed. "That lot will keep us going till Christmas."

Alex laughed and took out a can of Budweiser, passing it to Miles, who was in the middle of emptying the dishwasher.

"Might as well start early," Alex chuckled.

Miles wondered if he should tell him that he was still wearing his face mask...he had forgotten to take it off. The grown up thing would have been to tell him, but Miles was feeling playful.

Alex opened his can and went to drink it, but snorted as the beer poured down the mask onto the floor. Miles burst out laughing. Alex looked so stupid with a soaking wet surgical mask stuck to his face, as well as his expensive Ray Ban aviators.

"You tit!" Miles laughed.

"You little bastard." Miles could only stand and watch, frozen, as Alex put his hands over the mouth of the can and started shaking it up and down.

"You wouldn't.....?" Miles said.

Alex walked towards him, and even through the sunglasses he could see the devilment in his eyes.

Miles made a run for it, opening the backdoor and heading out into the garden. Suddenly he felt the cold, fizzy liquid hit his back. Alex laughed out loud, and as Miles turned around, he shook it in his face.

"Fucker!" He dived at Alex, sending him flying backwards onto the grass. His sunglasses flew off and Miles fought the urge to stamp on them, but he couldn't fight the urge...that old instinct, to throw himself on Alex. He knelt across him, his body moving up and down as Alex laughed wildly. Miles ripped off the mask and gripped Alex's nose, so he had to keep his mouth open. Miles cackled and squeezed the mask so all the beer dripped into Alex's mouth.

Alex spluttered, laughing and coughing, twisting his head from side to side, trying to escape the beer. He looked so young and happy and playful and messy, and it turned Miles on. All he wanted to do was grip Alex's hair and pull his head back and kiss him like he would have done once upon a time without thinking. Their play fighting always ended up like it, and to his horror, he felt himself start to get hard. Panicking, he practically leapt off Alex, to his feet.

"I win!" he shouted, and he walked back into the house, not even turning back to look at Alex. "I need a shower because of you, you little bastard."

Masturbation in the shower whilst thinking about Alex, was becoming a daily occurrence for Miles. He couldn't help himself, he still found him the most desirable person he had ever met, and he could turn him on by doing the most basic thing. No amount of therapy, or 'having a word with himself' would change that. He wished he could separate sex from his feelings for Alex, if he could, he would fuck him tonight, but he couldn't do it. Emotions would come into it and they would end up hurting each other, which would be difficult seeing as they had no escape at the moment.
