Perrie's Pov:
The next morning I had woken up very early and left a note telling Jade I had to be at work very early but I'd be home no later than five. Jeff and I decided to go out for breakfast instead today. I quickly got dressed in a blue pencil skirt and a white dress blouse with a blue blazer. After I left the note on the beside table next to her I went downstairs and grabbed my car keys. I got into my car and drove towards the diner we decided to meet up at.
I parked a few blocks away and started walking towards the diner. By the time I walked into the diner Jeff was already seated in a booth and was waiting for me. I walked towards the booth and slid in on the opposite side of him.
"Hey there cutie." I said.
"Hey beautiful." he replied. "I thought you weren't going to show."
"Said I would and now I'm here." I said smiling.
"I already ordered for us."
"What did you get for me?"
"I ordered your favorite." he said and I smiled. Once our food had arrived we ate in a silence that wasn't awkward, but one of those silences that just felt okay like you were just comfortable with the person. After we finished eating we went to the office for another long day of work.
"I'll see you at lunch beautiful." he said with a wink and went into his office. I blushed and walked into mine. To my surprise I saw Jade standing there.
"Hey.." I said not sure of what she was doing here.
"Hey. Um who was that?"
"Who are you talking about?"
"The guy you were just talking to.."
"Oh that's Jeff."
"Is there something going on between the two of you?" she asked and I just stood there trying to pick my words carefully.
"Um his name is Jeff."
"Well he's calling you beautiful so I'm guessing there is something going on."
"No no no. The thing is he's interested in me and well I told him I'm not interested and I told him that I'm with you. He's just kind of weird."
"Perrie seriously? Do you really think I believe that?"
"Well yea I'm your girlfriend you should believe me."
"I would if you were telling me the truth. I know you're lying."
"Well what makes you so sure you're right about this?"
"It's so obvious Perrie. You're always coming home late and if that's not the case then you're going to work really early. A little to early. On top of that I come to your office to surprise you and here's some guy calling you beautiful and there you are blushing like crazy. I'm pretty sure if he was just a weird guy like you say then you wouldn't be blushing."
"Well it's a compliment and I will admit that I find him attractive, but it does not automatically mean I'm cheating."
"So then what does it mean?!"
"It could mean anything Jade! Why are you so paranoid about this? "
"Well maybe because the love of my life is always out and never around anymore. Maybe because she makes it so goddamn obvious that she's cheating!"
"And you would know this is obvious how?"
"Because I cheated before!"
"Exactly! So if I'm cheating, which I'm not why is it so bad this time?"
