The next afternoon I had stopped by the office to pick up my ticket. I was glad I had everything packed for the flight so that way tonight I'd be able to just relax and enjoy my last day in New York.
Once I walked into my bosses office he gave me smile which meant he was in a good mood which wasn't too often.
"Glad to see you Jade."
"I'm glad to be here." I said which was a total lie.
"I'm really hoping things go well over there and if you're not happy over there remember you've always got a spot here."
"Thanks for everything." I said and he nodded. He handed me the ticket and after we had said our goodbyes I was on my way out of the building and walking towards my small apartment which I would somewhat miss.
The next morning I had waken up early and coudn't fall back asleep. It was due to all the excitement I had of going back home. I got out of bed and walking over to my suitcase. I carefully check once again to make sure that everything was in there. Once I checked and was assured everything I'd need was there I had gotten dressed into a t-shirt and sweats. I wanted to be comfortable for the long flight.
Since I had to throw away all the food that wa s here since i had no plan in returning to New York anytime soon I had to grab my suitcase and head to the airport early and get something to eat there.
Once I arrived at the airport I bought myself a sandwich and chips with a soda. I sat by myself and ate. I watched as angry looking parents with small children walked by and teenagers who could totally care less about where they were or where they were headed to. I knew today would be a long day.
When I had finally arrived to England I couldn't be happier. It felt amazing to be back and I couldn't wait to get to my mum's house and surprise her, but since it was late that would have to wait for tomorrow. I quickly left the airport and headed to a hotel. I got myself a small room which was perfect for just one person. While I was back in England I still felt empty for some reason. I had honestly made myself believe that coming here would fill the void, but I guess not. I had been gone for so long that by now I had no friends here. All the people I knew were going on with their lives, married, had children, owned houses or businesses, or had simply moved from here. I was lonely in New York and here.
I decided it wasn't the time to over think everything. It was late I was exhausted and I had work in the morning. I made myself comfortable and quickly fell asleep.
The next morning I got out of bed and took a shower. I tried dressing th best I could since I'd be working in a new office with a lot of new people. I wanted to make the best impression that I could on them.
When I was ready I headed out the door and grabbed a cab to the office. When I got there the office was huge, not as big as the one in New York, but close. I paid the cab driver and got out of the car. I walked into the building and saw a lady at the front desk. I went over to her and she directed me to the third floor. She told me someone would be waiting there for me. I thanked her and took the elevator up to the third floor. When I got to my floor I walked to a lady who looked to be in her twenty's pretty young. I felt okay here so far.
"Hi I'm Jade." I said to her.
"Oh hello. I'm Morgan. Are you new here?" she asked.
"Well I've been promoted. I've come from the office in New York."
"Oh right. I've heard you were coming. Welcome by the way."
"Thank you."
"So your office is room 304. I hope you don't mind but in this building we share the rooms. There are two people in each room."
"Oh that's no problem. Thank you by the way." I said smiling softly. She nodded as if she was done talking with me and I took the hint. I walked to room 304 and when I got there, there was a blond lady sitting at the one of the desk.If I wanted to make at least one friend I'd have to be as friendly as I could so I walked near her desk hoping she wouldn' t mind me trying to start a conversation.
"Hello" I said and she looked up. When she did my heart stopped. I looked into her blue eyes. Those were the same blue eyes I had once fallen in love with.
"Jade? Is that you?" she asked and stood up.
"Uhm yea it's me."
"It's wonderful to see you!" she said and walked towards me pulling me into a hug. I hugged back. I could no believe I was even in the same room as her after years of no contact here we both were in a hug.
"I'm happy to see you too." I said.
"So how's everything been?" she asked.
"Well okay I guess. I've just come from New York to work here." I said with a small nod.
"Oh it must of been lovely over there."
"Yea it was. So how have things been with you?" I asked.
"Wonderful actually. After my first year in the states I came back home finished college here and I've even met someone." she said with such a happy smile. She hadn't changed at all. Looked the same since the last I'd seen her. In fact she was even more beautiful this time.
"That's great. It really is great to see you again Perrie." I said trying my best to smile when really I was hurt on the inside. Knowing she moved on from us hurt more than anything, but I couldn't do anything about it. I had messed up, I had hurt her so now she deserved to be happy.
"Yea. So you'll be working in this room as well?" she questioned.
"Yup."
"That's wonderful.I'm glad to be working with an old friend. If you need anything don't be afraid to ask." she said and I nodded. I told her I'd be right back, that I was just going to get some water. When I walked out of the room panic mode had come on. Here I am coming from New York with nothing and no one. And the first person I happen to run into that I know is Perrie. Nothing about this can turn out to be good. I'm sure of that.
Sorry for taking so long to update and sorry that this chapter isn't too good. They will get better as the story goes on.
