Chapter 5 (2 months later)

Lexi texted me, it reads: I'll see you later, have a good first day! I was so excited to surprise her! I replied: You too! Josh was dropping me off for my first day. After mom was put in prison, Kent went off the grid. Anyway I gotta surprise Lexi! School starts in ten minutes and I see her outside the gate. I pull out my phone and text her: Look behind you. She looks but looks away and continues talking to this girl, who I can't tell who it is. I just felt hurt. The bell rang and I went to class, I have 3rd period with Lexi so maybe she will tell me why she did that.

She texted me! It reads: Why are you here, aren't you supposed to be at school? I had to tell her now! I replied: I go to your school.... She started typing. She finally texted...: If you go to my school we have to break up... I'm sorry. Somehow I kept calm and texted her: Ok. And just sat there waiting for the day to be over so I can cry. The bell for lunch rang and I walked to the cafeteria. I found the only empty table and sat at the end. A girl I recognized from fourth period came and sat down beside me. "I'm Alex!" She said, "I'm Mia." I said still pretty upset that Lexi had just broke up with me. "You ok?" Alex asked, "Im fine just, haven't had the best day." I said. Alex got my mind off Lexi. Oh Lexi texted me, it reads: Wow you really didn't want me! I replied: If you want to break up, I'm fine with that, I don't want to break up, but there is no use, you want to break up. I got up and went to the washroom and put my feet on the seat, and felt tears slowly streaming down my face, mascara smudging. I heard Alex run in. She knocked on the door beside me, a familiar voice replied, "Occupied!" It was the girl Lexi was talking to this morning. Alex finally got to my stall, knocked, when I didn't answer, she crawled under the door in a funny way, which caused me to laugh. I opened the door and hit her head with it and walked to 6th period. It was gym, I noticed a tryout sheet, it was for Basketball and Volleyball, I signed my name for girls Basketball.

Finally the day was over! And I can go cry. "Mia, do you think I can get a ride?" Alex said catching up to me, "I can ask." I said as Josh pulled in. "Josh can my friend get a ride?" I asked. "Fine, hop in." He said as we hopped in the back. "Where to?" Josh said, "Just down the street to the left. Orange house." She replied, I know that house, it's a few houses away from where I live! We dropped off Alex. And I still looked a bit upset. "What's wrong?" Josh asked as we pulled into the driveway. "Lexi broke up with me." I said as he hugged me. We got inside and I ran to my room, and a text from Lexi popped up. I read it: I'm sorry please forgive me, can we still be friends. I paused as I noticed a second message: is what i would say if you weren't rude to me. And there it was, the breaking point. Tears streaming down my face a text from an unknown number popped up, it read: it's me Alex. Oh ya I had gave her my number in 7th period. I texted her a photo of me with messed up mascara that I had taken a minute earlier. She replied: Omg are you ok? Yea, just was crying. Why? I got broken up with.... WHO? IM GONNA BEAT HIM! It's a girl.... And she left me on read

THEN WHO IS THE GIRL? She texted me, an hour after our conversation. Lexi.... I thought Lexi was straight. Idk anymore. And I fell asleep ending the conversation. I woke up at 10:00pm with 100 messages from Alex. All spam. And I fell back to sleep, that's a tomorrow problem.
