~Part One~

Taking my black and red hair, I quickly threw it up onto a messy bun on top of my head before jerking my bags close to my hip as I ran towards the elevator. I was going to be late for my appointment if I missed the elevator. I had In This Moment running through my hearing aid that was tucked gently into my right ear. I had taken the one in my left ear completely out cause the deafness in that ear wasn't that bad.

I heard the elevator ding from around the corner, so I sped up.

"Hey, hold the elevator please!"

"Sure," I heard a male voice say.

I briskly stepped on to the elevator for the man to move his hand out for the doors to close. He was to my right, but I paid him no mind.

"Thank you," I replied softly.

I heard him say, "you're welcome," softly.

He then said something else, but I couldn't make it out. Pulling my phone out of my back pocket, I paused the music.

"My apologies," I said. "I had In This Moment running through my hearing aid. What did you say?"

"What floor," he asked as I turned to look at him.

I recognized that face anywhere. I was on the elevator with Will Ramos of Lorna Shore. Looking down at the buttons, he was obviously going to the same floor I was.

"23 like you," I said with a smile.

He smiled back at him; "Hi, I'm Will," he said and held out his hand to me.

I put my hand in his and squeezed his hand; "Nova," I said with a smile.

"Nova?"

"Short for November. My name is November Rain Belcourt."

"Do you go by Nova Rain?"

"I do. How did you know that?"

"Girl, please, I follow you on Instagram! Your photography is amazing."

"Oh, well, thank you. Don't tell anyone, but I listen to Lorna Shore," I said and winked at him.

"You don't look like a Lorna Shore fan," he said and chuckled.

"What do Lorna Shore fans look like then," I asked with a giggle.

"Hey, you got me there," he said and smiled at me.

Out of nowhere, the elevator jerked and stopped.

"Uhoh," I said and pulled my phone out.

No signal. Of course!

"Fuck," I said and tried to hide the panic attack that was trying to simmer.

"Hey, Nova, look at me," Will said to me.

I looked over at him with that panicked look on my face. He reached over and pushed one of the buttons. I slid my bags off my arm and set them in the floor.

"This is building security," the voice said. "Who am I talking to?"

"I'm Will and I have a beautiful young lady here with me by the name of Nova."

"Is it just the two of you?"

'Yes."

"Either of you hurt?"

"No, but she looks like she's having a panic attack."

I nodded my head yes.

"Okay, Will, if you will keep her focused and occupied, we will get you out of there in no time."
