"There's so many stories where some brave hero decides to give their life to save the day, and because of their sacrifice the good guys win, the survivors all cheer, and everybody lives happily ever after. But the hero... never gets to see that ending. ...They'll never know if their sacrifice actually made a difference. They'll never know if the day was really saved. In the end, they just have to have faith. ...Ain't that a bitch?"

"When it goes off, I'll be fine. It only affects computers, remember? And I am a motherfuckin' ghost."

The final fragment of the Alpha AI of Project Freelancer; Epsilon, deconstructed at the end of his rather short life. With all the fragments destroyed the Alpha could once again become whole, even if it was in death.

A second chance was what he needed. To be able to live life without being manipulated and tortured. And so he got just that; another go at life, on a planet that wasn't space faring, they were barely even surviving. But, Alpha was ready. He had faced all kinds of people far more dangerous than some planet's wildlife. Or, at least he was until he found out he now had to live life as a fifteen year old girl.

Church's eyes snapped open from his spot laying on the ground. He remembered a lot, but not everything. He could tell there were blank spots surrounding Tex and Carolina. The more he tried to remember, the more his damn head hurt. Church looked at his new body. He was naked, or should he say she? Nope, he was gonna stick with he, that's what he was after all.

Glancing around, he saw trees, bushes, the sky, and a man with a white cloak, just staring at him. "The fuck do you want?"

                                           ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It had been two years since Church ended up in this universe, on the planet called Remnant. Two years of stupid idiotic teenagers that he was forced to be friendly with. He ended up living with a Ruka Rose, the man that found Church and who he now called dad. —Ruka had forced it on him— Ruka had wanted to name Church, Summer. Because Church had actually played it smart for once and said he didn't remember anything. Ruka had somehow won the name argument. And so Church was named Summer Church Rose, but of course he went by Church, only Ruka called him Summer. Church remembered the day he got his new name clearly.
"Summer is not a good name, Church is way better."
"Church is a male name and it doesn't abide by the color naming rule that we have been going by for over fifty years."
"It's so fucking stupid!"
"You're being named Summer, end of discussion."
"That's not the end of the discussion. The end of the discussion is me taking a fucking leap off the fucking cliff if you name me Summer!"
"Okay, have it your way, you'll be named Summer Church Rose."
"Fuck you! Fuck your family! Fuck the town! And fuck the whole fucking world!"
That was a good conversation. It got even better when Ruka made it official that his first name was Summer. Church actually did take a leap off the cliff, or at least tried to, Ruka wouldn't let him actually go through with it. Something about how he cared for Church too much. It was some sappy shit like that.
At the moment Church was on his way to Beacon academy, waiting on an airship. It would probably take several hours to actually get to Beacon because they decided to use an airship; the slowest vehicle known to man.
Church had no idea who designed the airships, but if somehow he found them he would give them hell. It was so idiotic. Sure, it could carry a fuck ton of people but what did that matter if it moved a mile per hour.
