MASQUERADE BALL — THE DAY SHE LOST HER OTHER HALF

[Name] Marianne Verlice is the precious gem of her family while Roseia Marianne Verlice is the sacred treasure of the Verlice Clan. So it is a no wonder as to why they're currently being crowded by noble men, asking for their hand in marriage. They were trying so hard to woo them and to show off to the two daughter of the Verlice's that it makes [name] trying hard not to roll her eyes at them.

While Roseia was just all smiling and entertaining some of them, laughing at their lame ass jokes. [Name] just sighs and stay by her sister's side, never leaving even if they're being surrounded by a lot of guys. She did make a promise to herself that no matter what, she'll not leave Roseia's side.

"Lady [Name], you look as beautiful as the rose!"

"Lady [Name] did you know that my family owns the land next to your manor?"

"Oh my Lady [name], would you like to have a dance to this beautiful night at the balcony?"

You're getting irk by all of the attention and questions they're throwing at you, looking at Roseia who seem to be fond by the guy she's currently talking right now, currently ignoring all of the other men and busy laughing with the noble.

"Nee-chan, let's take a seat." You grab her elbow and point towards the table, Roseia immediately stop conversing with the guy and pay all of her attention to you. You stare at the guy as if saying that you're much more important than him to her. Roseia smiles at you and put a hand on your cheeks. "Come on [name], put a smile on your face. You look so beautiful when you smile." You just sigh at her behaviour.

"Oh, by the way, this is Earl George. Earl, this is my sweet and adorable sister, [Name]." Introducing the two of you, you just smile for a second and muttering a "hi" before once again asking your sister to sit. "[Name], you can take a sit, Earl George and I will be having a chat at the balcony." Your brows furrowed while the said Earl just flashes you a smile.

"Don't worry Lady [Name], I won't do your sister any harm, I'll be by her side." Once again, he flashes you another smile and you just slightly nod your head. "Fine, if you need me Nee-chan, I'll just be at the table. Be back." Muttering the last sentence next to her ear and watch them walk off with her hands on his arm and laughing to whatever the Earl is saying.

"You're gonna burn a hole in his head." A voice behind you spoke, you snap your head to look at him. He was blonde, had ruby red eyes and a condescending smile. You almost rolled your eyes at him but stopped yourself. "I would like that to happen." You huff and walking off.

The blonde man just stared at your retreating figure with an amuse smile, a glance of danger flashes his eyes, observing your behaviour and stare at your sister then to the guy she's with, you had every rights to keep an eye to the guy and be suspicious of him. He has a lot of records in the blonde's lists.

"Hey, William! Albert is looking for you."

It's been an hour since Roseia was with Early George, you're getting jumpy and jittery on your seat. You can't relax ever since you left your sister with that guy. Your family keeps on reassuring you that it's fine.

"[Name], relax, you don't need to worry about your sister. She's old enough and she seems to be fond of the man." Your mother spoke, sipping the champagne. Your father stared at you as he took a sit, he rolled up his sleeves and put an arm on your mother's shoulder. "Yeah, let your sister have fun, it's time for her to find a man." He laughs a little before grabbing a glass of champagne.
