8:37am, La Soleil, Yokohama, Japan...
...
"Chocola, stop that, you're not acting right!" Mark shrieked at what appeared to be Chocola on top of a body.

Upon fixating his eyes, he saw it was Vanilla, her neck bitten straight through. Mark jolted back in horror when he bumped into Coconut, who was holding her side, which appeared to be injured and causing her to bleed out.

Though even though she is suffering, she still holds onto Azuki's body, void of life. Once again, Mark stepped back from the sight when Cinnamon started hugging him, tears in her eyes. "Cinnamon what's wrong? Where's Maple?" He asked, but to no avail.

Cinnamon just kept crying into his shoulder. Trying to calm her down, he wrapped his arm around her back only to feel something wet and reeled his hand back to see it was blood. "Cinnamon what happened? Tell me!" He pleaded but yet again got no answer and was distracted by another sound he heard from behind, causing his heart beat to rise heavily.

He turned around slowly and what he saw caused him to cry and vomit at the same time. Maple was slowly limping towards him on a broken leg and a missing jaw. The crimson liquid that dripped from her face made a small plink with every step.

Mark wanted to run but couldn't. He was stuck in place from fear. "Maple no!" He cried as she drew closer, and closer. So close until she was dead in front of him. He screamed as Maple clawed his face and knocked him to the ground as the others joined in on the frenzy.

...

"Gah!" Mark shrieked as he jolted awake. "Fuckin' hell... what a nightmare." He thought as he laid now awake in a bed.

As he slowly woke up he realized that the scent wasn't that of his own. "Shit, yesterday wasn't a dream." He thought as he noticed something blocking his way to get up.

He adjusted his vision before seeing Maple holding onto him, and Cinnamon holding onto her. In normal circumstances, this would be cute, however, the both of them are quivering, an afraid look on their face, replacing the normal peaceful look when people are sleeping.

"That's right... I have to be strong. For everyone's sake... it's up to me and my King Crimson to keep everyone safe."

Mark slowly climbed out of the bed and left the room. This wasn't exactly how he expected the end of the world to go, the power was still on and the water was running. At least for now. He peered outside through a window and got a hard reminder of what outside looked like. Smoke from buildings from the remnants of a fire the night before. Cars abandoned and scattered along the street. And of course, the main issue, the zombies that roamed the streets.

"Mark?" A voice called out. "Yeah, it's me Kashou." "It's the end of the world..." Kashou shook his head. "Yeah, yeah it is, but not for us. Do you know where Len is?" Mark asked, closing the blinds. "He's by the stairs, he's been there all night." Kashou answered.

Mark thanked him before making his way towards the door that lead to the stairs before opening it and seeing Lenard on the stairs.

"Oh, it's you. It's Mark isn't it?" Len yawned. "Yeah. Do you think your plan to simply run away to another building was the best one now?" Mark asked, still slightly out off by this guy.

"Well, it's up for debate. If there were less people then you would be right. But there's not. There's eight of us, so it's only a matter until we run short on food. If you're wondering what I suggest, my recommendation is to either find a consistent, reliable, source of food or we need to leave." Len answered.

"But you already know my answer for the last one. I'm not going to leave my friends behind to go on a survival quest with a crook."

"Then looks like option one is what we're going to do. For safety's sake, it will just be the two of us going, sound fair?" Lenard asked in which Mark agreed, not wanting to risk the lives of the Minazukis that have no way to defend themselves.
