Damon after booking his stay at the nearest hotel decided to then checkup on klaus. He felt kind of guilty leaving the hybrid there, though he supposed these new change of feelings were warranted after being courted.
He's never been courted before in all his years as a vampire and human. There was enzo but he's not yet ready for that bucket of ptsd and nightmares yet.

Return to the boarding house he saw Elena in the doorway with a suitcase wrestling Caroline for her bag.
" YOUR NOT LEAVING ME ELENA!" Shouted Caroline getting the upper hand and now hugging the bag whilst Elena had the strap and was pulling it with all her strength. Her face looked red. "CAROLINE JUST GIVE ME MY BAG" shouted Elena "NO NEVER" was the reply she got.
After another 10 minutes of standing at the doorway and not getting a simple glance he was fed up. He sped towards the girls and managed to grab the bad himself holding it in the air incase one of them decided to try their luck. The two girls looked at him with annoyance written on their face.

"Damon give me my bag" Elena said hoping the vampire would listen but instead she was ignored."Why exactly are you leaving and why did blondie here feel the need to stop you"
Caroline - because she wants to leave me to deal with a original stalker whilst she's sipping cocktails in Hawaii

Damon- nothing supernatural has been going on for the last months.

Wow he was being ignored again. Yeah he wasn't gonna Stay and watch them kiss it out that's just gross and not needed.
Hearing the screams of klaus and, Stefan trying to direct Elijah's rage onto said hybrid did make his day feel better tho alas no-one except himself is allowed to hurt steffy and so he went down to the creepy basement.

I mean why would they even make it other than to make stupid teenagers that think they have the power of god on their side.

What he saw down the stairs would forever haunt or confuse him.

As soon as Damon walked downstairs he could just tell there was a story. A rather sickening story that adds to his growing list of how and why is that possible. Klaus and Stefan were chained together which okay, yeah they need to work on not causing a war between anyone. It was not weird or abnormal, though what was the weird thing in the basement was Elijah sitting in the middle of the room on a chair that oddly looks like a imitation of the game of thrones.

They guy looks like he's enjoying himself. He's got some expensive looking headphones and a game of thrones book in hand. How he knows what the game of thrones is, not up for debate.

What was the most abnormal and honestly soul crushing thing was Kol surprisingly. He in his long immortal life was staring at the original in pity for the first time since he had been human.
They guy truly looked like a lost kicked poor unwanted helpless stray dog.

Kol was under Elijah's throne ... chair attempting to hold it in the air with Elijah on it.  He had a literal muzzle on his face. A muzzle!!

He did not know what Kol said to Elijah the peaceful to warrant a muzzle!. They guy literally looks like they type to bow to every whim of his younger siblings. Not muzzle them!!
