"Khushi, what is it? before anything else I want to know why you left without a word?" parking his bike near the gate he started asking her again. The ride had helped him cool his mind to a certain extent, the girl didn't leave him hanging in the middle after throwing him into an ocean of confusion and troubles.
"Arnav, patience please, you need to know a few things, it is important more than you think, to keep your current thoughts at a halt let me clear myself by saying, I never went with an intention to leave you behind, something urgent has come up, I went alone because I wanted to show as much as NK is important to me you are no less, I may act impulsively without thinking when he is danger, but you have to understand he is the only relation I ever had in my life, so I try everything in my power to keep it till end." this talk is important for Arnav to have a clear mind before he gets to know some essential truths.
With that he was relieved a bit, he was still reeling in her words wanting to absorb the true meaning behind those but his relief was short-lived when he came face to face with the unknown phase of his life.

"Ma, what happened, are you okay? Don't worry, I'll be home in a few minutes" La panicked hearing her mother's worried tone on the device. Being a single mom for most of her life she was braver than she shows to the outside world, which means there surely is something big which resulted in a slight quiver in her voice.
"I just went to get some groceries from the nearby shop, and by the time I returned she was not seen anywhere." with everyone storming their house uninvited at unusual hours it was sure there were many things which are hidden from her but since her daughter is grownup now to know where she shouldn't poke her nose she kept quiet. Going by the look of it, Payal is the second person who went without a word of her whereabouts.
"Let me try calling her mobile" Even though it sounded a useless attempt to her ears she still tried.

"Arnav, meet the person for whom I went to Lucknow, Devyani Raizada" she spoke waiting for Arnav to register her words and acknowledge the meaning behind it.
"Khushi I don't understand who she is, what does it have to do with my mother?" he was annoyed about what was the girl playing at, making him stand in front of an old lady who from the moment he entered the room was just staring at him unblinkingly.
"Just listen to me, she is Devyani RAIZADA" she insisted only on revealing the name and nothing else.
"What is it with you, what if she is Devyani Raizada...Rai..za...da? Lu..Lucknow?" it clicked, the name which was his identity for so long, the name which raised doubts in his mind for the first time towards his father, the name which made him go to Lucknow trying to trace back the steps of his mother.
"N..Naa..Naaani?" he choked. Is it possible after so many years for him to meet someone who would be linked to his mother, can he feel her presence after craving it forever?
"Choteyyy" The old lady ran forward wanting to feel the last remnant of her daughter, but her grandson beat her to it lurching forward, embracing her, feeling her warmth and smelling the comfort, and reassurance, only a mother holds, his tears soaked her saree but she was no less in letting out her held up emotions in the form of silent weeping.
--------------------------------------------
Giving privacy Khushi moved out of the room finally she was able to do something in return for everything Arnav had ever done to her, on that day at La's place she picked up the call on his mobile which was from his grandfather's friend, she thought it would be best if she takes the lead here in this situation to show him that she is ready to put efforts for him, went alone to show she is ready to take risks for him.
It was his matter but she couldn't be calm letting him deal with this alone after knowing the current position they were in, what with his father being under their radar. Luckily for her, the man guided her to Devyani Ji when he heard Anjali's name. Khushi didn't dwell much into the story which was not her's to share, she simply showed the photos of Anjali and Akash. Once it was confirmed, she simply informed her there was someone in Delhi who was waiting for her and requested her to tag along.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
From the last hour, the only thing the grandmother and son duo were doing was holding each other's hand seeking strength, they have so much to share but words failed them and the tear ducts worked endlessly, it still was a shock to them to know the existence of the other person.
"Where were you all these years Nani? Why couldn't you come to meet me at least once?" Arnav was the first one to break the silence.
"I would have surely come chotey, if only I knew that you were alive," she said replied, this boy in front of her had grown to be the replica of her daughter, isn't he? his eyes they resemble her daughter in every sense.
"But you and Nana were the ones who didn't want me and Dad in your life," he repeated the words he heard numerous times from his father.
"NO, NO, what are you saying chotey, you were the ray of sunshine in our lives, you are a part of my Anjali why would I want to part ways with you? I lost your Nana to death only because he couldn't live with the fact that he lost his only daughter and grandson." aghast with her grandson's assumptions, she rushed to clarify.
