Part 5(A)

"Shyam Jha here, .." Shyam was busy with back to back hearings in the court, by the time he checked his phone he saw 30 missed calls from one particular unknown number, he was about to call back when he got a call from the same number again.

"Hello, Shyam, is that you? Thank God, I could finally speak to you, What happened, why aren't you not lifting my calls?" he heard Payal's hurried voice from another side.

"Payal?! Whose number is this? Where are you?" he tried to find out from her first.

Payal was under constant surveillance from either of the family members, she was forced to take leave from the office until the matter settles down completely. It has been one week since she last spoke to Shyam and today after convincing her family that she cannot be on leave like this forever without proper intimation to the higher authorities she reached office. Aman dropped her and while her mother was seated in the lobby waiting for her to finish off her resignation process so that they both can go back home together.

Payal couldn't waste this opportunity, her boss is in middle of a meeting, it would take him some time to be back, seeing that her mother is engrossed in reading a magazine, she approached Lavanya and requested if she could use her phone to make a call.

"I'm calling from my assistant's number, I don't know how but....." she narrated what all transpired in her life in this one week.

"Aman was here before threatening me to leave you."

"What should we do? If I go back home today, I don't know if I will get a chance to speak to you again. Please do something." Payal was on verge of crying but she couldn't cry to her heart's content now. If at all she becomes emotional now and wastes her time there is no way she can speak to him again.

"You don't worry, I wouldn't let them separate us, you just behave normally as if you are okay with their decision, as the right time comes I will whisk you away with me. Let them think that you are on their side so that it will be easier for us, as they will relax a bit."

"But.." she stopped as she saw her mother coming towards the cabin and hurriedly tossed the phone to La.

"What is it La?"

"I think, it would be better if you would come right away here"

La called him the moment she came to know that Payal was resigning, she saw Payal's mother waiting for her and heard that her uncle was going to come over to take them back. What she did miss was Aman dropping Payal, if at all she saw that she would have recognized that he was none other then Rohan's boss and it would be easier for them to find out more about Payal through Rohan.

"Did they leave?"

"No, she is still in the cabin signing some documents, the lady you saw in the lobby is her mother, I missed her brother, I heard that he was here to drop them, but it is still okay, her uncle will be here anytime." La briefed Arnav as she saw him rushing into the lab.

Arnav stood on the balcony so that even if anyone comes into the room with Payal, they wouldn't see him and he can clearly see the incoming and outgoing patients from there.

He saw Payal entering the room with her mother to collect her things from her desk, she packed her bag and removed her scarf to tie on her face to avoid the pollution outside, that moment as Arnav saw her face masked in the scarf, it struck him, those eyes, the eyes which were haunting him from the time he saw them in the photo. the same photo which Khushi showed to him on the day they went to SHAKSHY office. The same photo which was taken on the day medical camp was conducted, Payal was the person who was standing beside NK.

He was still trying to remember when did he see them for the first time when he saw HP entering the building. Was HP, Payal's uncle? He saw them together a few days back, isn't it? but he didn't think he has his extended family too were living here in the same part of the city as he is. If at all they are speaking terms then what is the reason behind HP to lie that he has no family? He saw that the trio walked away from the building, took an auto and within seconds they are out of his sight. La confirmed to him that it was indeed her uncle who came.

"Looks like a love affair, doesn't look so from her behavior till date but she wanted to speak to someone secretly, who can it be other than a boyfriend?"

"Did you hear her speak to him?"

"I'm not sure if it is him/her, it's just my wild guess, oh but I can give you the number, she spoke from my mobile." La gave him the number.

Looking at the number somethings became clear to Arnav, but a lot more things seemed confusing.

It was his boss's personal number, Shyam Jha's mobile number. Payal came to meet Shyam in their office, back then he couldn't see her face as she wore a scarf in the same way as today, only her eyes were visible. That day too Shyam came and took her with him before he could question her details or the person whom she wants to meet.

Is there any connection between Payal - SHAKSHY?

Why is HP living with them, even after having his family here in the city? What was the need to lie that he has no one to look after him?
