Real and True

Chapter 2

I woke up the next morning walking to the bathroom to use the bathroom I did my business and washed my hands and brushed my teeth. I walked back out the bathroom to my ringing phone, I picked it up to see Monae calling me. "Hey girl, you wanna go to the mall today" she asked. I glance over at my digital clock sitting on my dresser and said "sure what time" "today at 1:30" "okay I'll be ready I'll meet you up there" I said hanging up. I went to my closet to get some clothes for the mall. When I was dressed I looked in my body mirror to check out my outfit. I took a couple pictures and headed out my room I walked into the kitchen to get a green apple on my way to the mall.

I pulled up to the mall and threw away my apple. Monae had texted telling me to meet her in the food court. So that's where I headed to. As I was walking I got a few stares from some guys but I just kept walking. I stopped walking to look for Monae when I spotted her at a table on her phone. I walked over to her and tapped her shoulder making her turn around. As soon as she saw me she got up and we began our journey in the mall.

We was in the fifth store and I was getting hungry. I heard a familiar voice and turned around. It was that Michael boy I met the other day, he was with some friends. He saw me staring at him and was making his way towards me. I turned around sharply and started to look at the clothes when he called my name."Jasmine" I turned around to look at him " oh hey Michael I didn't see you" "oh really cause I saw you checking me out over there". "I wasn't checking you I just caught a quick glance" "anyways" he said changing the subject " can I buy you something to eat"? "I would love that but I came here with a friend so unfortunately I would have to say no". "C'mon now I just want to get to know you that's all" he said. I laughed at his seriousness and said  "hold up let me tell her that I'll have lunch with you" he winked at me and walked away towards his friends leaving me there with a smile on my face. I walked over to Monae who was heading inside the dressing room "Monae" I called after her. She turned around giving me her attention "what" "I was letting you know that a friend of mine asked me to go eat lunch with him" I said. Her eyes grew wide "are you seeing someone already" "no he's just a friend I met, you know that I'm still trying to get over Josh I'm not ready to move on" she sighed and said okay.

Josh was my ex we went out for two years and I loved him with all my heart but about 2 months ago he I found out that he cheated on me with Ashley and got her pregnant. I took it badly I was a mess for two weeks straight and it still hurts when I think about it sometimes.

I walked back over to Michael who was waiting on me with a big smile "you ready now" he said. I nodded and we walked out the store we got us some pizza and sat down. I put my bags down and started to eat the pizza, we just eating in awkward silence until he decided to speak up "what brings you to the mall today" he said "well, my friend asked me to come with her but I got stuck with you" I said smiling. "Aye don't act like you don't wanna be with me because if you didn't you would have said no" he said laughing. I rolled my eyes at his cockiness "whatever" I mumbled "so how old are you" I asked "19" he said. I choked on my pizza "oh really" I said taking a drink of my sprite. "Yeah is something wrong with my age" he asked. I shook my head no "uh no are you in college" I asked clearing my throat "nah I dropped out in 11th grade what about you" he asked "well first I'm 17 and I'm still in school" I said feeling proud of myself. He shook his head "well that's good news but I'm going to get ready and head out" he said leaving the table. I wondered why he would just leave like that but I just shook it off. I picked up my bags and headed out the mall I popped the trunk and put my bags in there and drove off.
