Real and True

Chapter 3

I woke up to my phone ringing I rolled over and grabbed it off the dresser. "Hello" I said with sleep in my voice "Jasmine" I frowned when I heard someone crying amd sniffling I took the phone from my ear to look at the Caller I.D. my frown deepened when I saw it was Monae I put the phone back up to my ear "Can I talk to you" she said

"Um sure Yea what's going on" she sighed and said "I'll tell you when I get over there I can't talk over the phone" she said crying "okay I'll see you when you get here". I hung up the phone and jumped out the bed to brush my teeth.

I walked into my sister room to find her asleep so I closed her door back and walked downstairs to see my parents woke. My father was counting money and my mom was making breakfast.

"Good morning" I said they both looked up and said "good morning" in unison. I walked to the table and sat down waiting for mama to be done with breakfast and for Monae to be here any minute.

There was a knock on the door and I got up to get it. I opened the door to see Monae crying I stepped aside and let her in.

She acknowledged my parents like she always does and we went up to my room.

"What's wrong" I asked she started crying hysterically and I pulled her into me and let her cry on my shoulder.

After a few minutes she raised up and said "Jay broke up with me" I gasped putting a hand over my mouth "what happened" she started crying more.

She wiped her tears "because I kept accusing him of cheating and he told me that he's fed up with my insecurities".

I pulled her into me and let her cry "you should call him to try to work things out and quit being so insecure" I said pulling her up. She nodded and said "I tried but he won't answer".

I felt bad for her I knew how she felt about him and she loved him deeply they were both in love I don't know what was going on with him to call it off like that but I'll find out.

We went downstairs to eat breakfast after she was done she said "I know your family day is today so I should head back home" I nodded and she went home and I went to get in the shower about 15 minutes.

I jumped out the shower and dried off I put on some high waisted pants and a half shirt and some sandals. I went in the bathroom to brush my teeth once again and to check my hair. I looked at my phone to see that it was 1:00

Every Sunday was a family day and today we would be out the house all day. I walked down the stairs and saw everybody down in the living room on their phone.

Mama looked up at me "come on y'all we all going in your daddy truck today. We all headed outside into daddy truck and we went to a restaurant.

After eating, talking, and laughing we all went to play laser tag. We played three games and left to go to the movies. We watched a scary movie and ate popcorn I really had fun today but I was tired.

We made it home around 11 I drugged my tired body up the stairs to my room I was sleepy but I had to get in the shower. I stripped out of my clothes and got in the shower.

I stayed in the shower for a little while and got out, I dried my body off and walked into my room I put on my pajamas and crawled into bed I turned my t.v. on to the Wendy Williams show.

I would watch this some nights before going asleep. The show went off and I texted Monae to make sure that she was ok before going to sleep, I waited 5 minutes for a reply but she didn't respond to my message. I hoped that she was ok but I would just find out tomorrow at school.

I turned off my lamp and turned on some light music I moved around in my bed until I got into a comfortable spot and dozed off.
